Schools Foundation meeting
The Perquimans County Schools Foundation, Inc.
will meet on Monday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. in the adminis
trative offices of Perquimans County Schools. For

Minister’s Council meeting
The Minister’s Council for Education in
Perquimans County will meet at Hertford Grammar
School on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 8:30 a.m. For addi

Robbins benefit fundraiser
Friends of John Robbins are hosting a pork bar-
beque benefit fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 28 at the
Durant’s Neck Ruritan Club in New Hope from 4 - 7
p.m. Tickets are $6 per plate and may be purchased at
the door or from any member of the Durant’s Neck
Ruritans, Forestburg Ruritans or Durant’s Neck
Volunteer Fire Department. A VIP care will be avail
able to write a personal message to John for a $100
donation. For information, call 264-5711. Donations
are welcomed.
Diabetic snpport group to meet
The DEAL Diaoetic Support Group will meet in
the Albemarle Hospital Education Center on Sept. 28
at 7 p.m.
AARP meeting
The Perquimans Chapter of the American
Association of Retired Persons will meet Monday,
Sept. 29 at the Perquimans County Senior Center in
Hertford at 2 p.m.
“Breakfast TOth a Friend”
The second annual “Breakfast With a Friend” to
benefit the Greater Albemarle Area Chapter of the
American Red Cross will be held Sept. 28, at CPOA
Quarters, Cardwell Street, Elizabeth City, 7-10:30 a.m.
The cost is $4 and the menu includes pancakes, eggs
and sausage with a beverage.
Workshop for parents offered
The Chowan/Gates/Perquimans Partnership for
Children is offering a workshop for parents of chil
dren from birth through age five on Thursday, Oct. 3,
from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Dillard’s Mill Road
Community Center (Old White Oak School) on 123
Dillard’s Mill Road in Tyner. The workshop, titled,
“Alien’ Behaviors-Who is the Alien?’ Me or My
Child?” will be led by the Partnership’s Early
Childhood Specialist, Debra Dawson, and will focus
on how a better understanding of children’s stages of
development can help parents cope with their chil
dren’s seemingly inappropriate behaviors. To regis
ter for the workshop, parents may call Debra Dawson
at the Partnership for Children in Tyner at 221-3030.
PTSA meeting scheduled
PTSA will meet Oct. 8 at 6 p.m. in the PCHS cafe
teria. Topics of discussion include safe schools and
low wealth county Dinner will be served at 6 p.m.

Community Technology training
Free computer training is scheduled at the
Community Technology Learning Center at
Perquimans County High School. Courses offered
are: Using Microsoft Word, Thursdays, 3-5 p.m. and
Using E-mail, Sept. 26, 3-5 p.m. To register, call 426-

All meals are served with Milk. Perquimans
County school lunch and breakfast menus for Sept.
30 - Oct. 4 are as follows: Monday- Breakfast-Pecan
Spins Lunch-grilled chicken sandwich or pizza, fries,
peas, carrots, mixed fruit. ; Tuesday- Breakfast-
super doughnut. Lunch-cheeseburger or hot dog,
fries, baked beans, corn, pears.; Wednesday-
Breakfast-sausage biscuit. Lunch-grilled cheese
sandwich or chicken nuggets, potato wedges, field
peas, Calif, blend vegetables, fresh fruit.; Thursday-
Breakfast-French toast sticks. Lunch-spaghetti w/
meat sauce or sausage dog, green beans, salad, pota
to rounds, peaches, roll.; Friday- Breakfast-steak bis
cuit. Lunch-fish nuggets or BBQ sandwich, whipped
potatoes, broccoli, pinto beans, applesauce, hush
puppies.

Menus for the nutrition site at the Perquimans
Senior Center for Sept. 30-Oct. 4: Monday - Chili-con-
carne, garden salad, spiced apples, rice, carrot cake.
Tuesday - Pork roast w/gravy, snap beans,
orange/pineapple juice, roll, mashed potatoes, jello.
Wednesday - Meatloaf w/tomato sauce, cabbage,
mandarin orange sliced, corn muffin, boiled pota
toes, cookies. Thursday - BBQ chicken, peas, apple
sauce, roll, noodles, granola bar. Friday - Beef stew,
peaches, roll, tapioca pudding.
Health clinic schedule
The Perquimans County Health Department
announces its schedule for Oct.l - 4 as follows:
Tuesday- pediatrics all day Wednesday-^ child health
in the morning. Friday—general health all day, WIC
all day.

Elected governing bodies hold regular meetings
each month. The schedule for those meetings in
Perquimans County is as follows:
