Noell has been promoted to Assistant Vice President-Branch Manager at East Carolina Bank’s Hertford office. “David has provided a tremendous amount of tal ent, knowledge and motiva tion to our Hertford branch,” said Arthur R. “Buck” Spruill III, East Carolina Bank’s Senior Vice President and Regional Executive. “He and his staff are very excit ed about the new fuU-ser- vice branch facility under construction at 1103 David Noell Harvey Point Ro Hertford.” Nixon reappointed to regional board A Perquimans County man has been reappointed to the Northeastern N.C. Regional Economic Development Commission. Mack Nixon, part owner, building contractor and developer for Albemarle Home Builders, Inc., was reappointed by Gov. Mike Easley. Nixon is vice chair of the Perquimans County Commissioners and a for mer chair of the board. He also previously served on the school board. He is a member of the Albemarle Regional Health Board, chair of the Perquimans County Economic Development Commission and chair of the Chowan- Gates-Perquimans Solid Waste Board. The commission was cre ated to facilitate economic development and tourism development in Beaufort, Bertie, Camden, Chowan, Currituck, Dare, Gates, Halifax, Hertford, Hyde, Martin, Northampton, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Tyrrell and Washington counties. The board has 19 members, each serving a two-year term. The gover nor appoints six members. Consumers caii now get free credit reports North Carolina con sumers can request their free annual credit report from the three nationwide consumer reporting com panies — Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. The Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act of 2003 (FACTA) amends the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and requires the nationwide credit bureaus to provide consumers a free copy of their credit report, at their request, once every 12 months. Law enforcement Perquimans Sheriff Julian Tadlock of 193 Body Road was charged with felony larceny, three counts of parole and proba tion violations, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, giving ficticious informa tion to an officer, driving whUe license revoked and breaking and entering a motor vehicle on Aug. 29. Bond was set at $42,000 secured.
