Items can be dropped off at the Ameri can Legion Building, ill W. Academy St. (across from the county library), Monday-Saturday from 8-9:30 a.m. The drive wraps up Nov. 1. For more information, call Barbara Rominger at 426-1532. ■ Book Sale The Perquimans County Library will hold a book sale through Saturday. ■ Art Show The Perquimans Arts League will host a new show through Nov. 4. The featured artist will be Outer Banks photographer Shirley Whitenack. There will be a “Meet the Artist” reception on Oct. 18 from noon to 3 p.m. at the gallery. Some tickets may still be available. ■ Library bingo The Perquimans County Library will host bingo Fri day at 10 a.m. SATURDAY ■ Arts/Crafts Show The Perquimans Arts League will host its fifth annual juried arts and crafts show on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Perquimans County Recreation Center. More than 40 vendors with pottery, jewelry, photog raphy, painting and fiber arts. Lunch, bake sale avail able. Admission $3 at the door, or $2 with discount card (available at the gallery). ■ Motown concert. The Hertford Rotary Club will host “The Difference”, a Motown Revue band, in concert at Perquimans Coun ty High School Saturday at 7 p.m. Cost is $15. For an $18 reserved seat, call 426-5246. Arts league looking to grow From Staff Reports The Perquimans Arts League is in the process of planning for continued growth and is recruiting for two new committees. The communications committee and the commu- nity/stakeholder relations committees are beginning to develop plans to address either the communication needs or the community support needs of the Arts League.
