Cone Memorial Hospital from gunshot wounds received in front of his home, Thursday, Feb. 4, 1971. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1971 at 2:00 p.m. from Beulah Baptist Church in Madison, N. C. Burial followed in Moore's Cemetery in Madison. The funeral processional left Hargett's Funeral Home at 1:00 P.M. enroute to Madison.
