Lighted candles in pine branches inter spersed with Christmas tree balls were arranged tin the windows and on the piano in the sanctu ary. Large evergreen trees on ei ther side of the pulpit in front of a white curtain formed the set ting for the shepherd scene. From the choir loft came voices of the youth choir in familiar carols, that told tfhe Christmas story, a long with readings by Ivan Wea ver, who stood behind a lectern, reading by candlelight. The cast of the pageant appeared in pan tonine as the story was told. Shepherds, wearing colored robes and scarfs on their heads, carry ing shepherd crooks, appeared on the scene, and an angel robed in white, with white wings and sil ver halo, appeared from the choir loft. Curtains were pulled follow ing this scene, revealing the manger scene, where a light from the hay-filled manger fell upon the faces of Mary, wearing a green skirt and wine robe, with a white headpiece, and Joseph, wearing a robe and 9carf. Four angels, clad In white,, wearing filmy white wings bordered in silver and silver halos, came down the enter aisle carrying lighted candles, and formed a semi -circle about the manger. An Innkeeper appeared, staring a head. Bearing gifts, the three Wise Men also came down the center aisle, wearing wine robes and white headpieces. Each kneeled before the manager, pre senting his gift, then left in dif ferent directions. Following the manger 9cene, the Holy Family left, followed by angels, who re moved a brown covering from the backdrop of the scene, reveal ing the painting, "Head of Chrisrt," as the reader told of Christ as the Light of the World. Folowing the last carol, a choral benediction was given hy the youth choir, robed In wine. At the organ was Miss Barbara Gault In the pageant were: Walter Griffin, Don Bumgardner.
