Christmas Program December 10 A Christmas program will be presented 'by the Children"s De partment of Central Methodist church Sunday December 10. at V p. m. In the sanctuary. A cordial invitation is extended to all. There will be a choir of child ren's voices, Readers who will tell the story of Christmas are Linda Blser, Peggy Bi-ack, Jean Hicks, Norma Kay Hamrick, Becky Or mand, Brenda Gail Hamrick, Charlotte Harrilt, Doris Dixon, Phyllis Bumgardner, Sara Dejl Hendricks, Nancy Craig, Patty Howard, Dicky Dixon, and Kay McCarter; Shepherds: Donald Parker, Jr., Ted Ware, Edward Blanton and Bobbie Early; Wise men: Glenn Grigg," Jr., Benny Ballard, David Falls, and Tom my Smith; Angel: Jo Ann Hayes; Manger scene: Jane Byers, and Ernest HoWell. Buddy Hayes will .be in charge of the lighting. Adults assisting are Mrs., M. C. Poston, director of songs by Kind ergarten, Mrs. M. H. Blser, direc tor of children's choir. The staff members of the department, Mrs; C. A. Goforth, Jr., Mrs. James Clonlnger, Mrs. Ben Beam, Mrs. H. P. Dixon, Mrs. Paul E. Hend ricks, Miss Margaret Harmon, Mrs. Bun Goforth, and Supt. of the department, Mrs. David Ham rick. In charge of the scenery Mrs, Sam Stal lings, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Ballard, Mrs.: Bun Goforth and Pink Ware. Special music will be rendered by Fleming Maunoy, Barbara Jean Gault and B. S. Peeler, Jr. At the conclusion of the wor ship service gifts of food or clo thing wrapped in whjte will be placed at the foot of tne manger These will be distributed by Mrs. Ruth Gamble and the Red Cross office. CHARLES HENRY MOSS. Jr. Miss Frances Lindsay Becomes Bride Of C. H. Moss, Jr., In Church Rites The First Baptist church was the setting for a lovely jvedding Saturday night when Miss Fran ces Elizabeth Lindsay, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde L. Lindsay, became the bride of Charles Hun ter Moss, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hunter Moss. The service was held at 8 o'clock with the pastor, Rev. T. L. Cashweli, offi ciating, using the double ring ceremony. The vows were spoken before a background of palms with sev. ven branched candelabras hold ing cathedral tapers forming an arch across the baptistry. Floor baskets of white chrysanthe mums were placed at either side of the choir railings. The choir and baptistry railings wore veiled in white and bverlaid with fern. The bride was given in marri age by her father. C. H. Moss, fa ther of the groom, was best man. The ushers were Charles Eugene Neisfer ill, John Kezziah, broth er-in-law of the groom, William Lupton of Winston -Salem and Frank Glass. The ushfers .were members of the groom's Fraterni ty at State College. The bride wore a gown of ivory slipper satin with fitted bodice, low yoke of nylon edged with Chantilly lace, long sleeves end ing in calla lily points over the hands. The full shirt extended into a aisle wide traih. Her fin ger tip veil of French illusion ed ged with Chantilly lace was at tached to a satin Juillett cap with lace insets and flowers in seed pearl and orange blossoms. She carried a satin muff orna mented with three large white or chids softened with mallne with streamers of pearls. Bridesmaids Miss Joyce Foster was maid of honor. Mrs. Ed Early, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Their dresses were gold satin, fit ted bodices with attached should er length capes and full skirts. Their headdress was satin plaits. They carried satin rnuffs with two large bronze orchids. Bridesmaids were Miss Gloria Harkey of Lincolnton, Miss Mar garet Kincaid of Bessemer City, Miss Lyvonne Lindsay, sister of the bride, and Mrs. John Kessiah, sifter of the groom. Their dress es were of green satin and fash ioned as those of the honor at tendants. They carried similar muffs of bronze orchids. Mrs. Lindsay, mother of the bride, wore a fuchsia crepe dress with a purple orchid shoulder corsage. Mrs. Moss, mother of the groom, wore ice blue crepe "and a corsage of yellow orchids and split, yellow carnations. Later they left for a wed ding? trip to Florida. Upon their return they will be at home on East King street. For traveling the bride wore a brown tweed suit with brown accessories and an orchid from her bouquet. The bride attended Kings Mountain high school and Evans Business School in Gastonia. She is now employed as secretary with J. E. Herndon Co. The bridegroom attended Kings Mountain schools and State Col lege. He was in the Air Force for fourteen months. He is now owner of a local service station. ? ? ? V " Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Lindsay en tertained the wedding party and members of the. families with a lovely cake-cutting at their home on Gold street, immediately fol lowing the Lindsay-Moss wed ding rehearsal last Friday even ing. Among the pre-nuptial courte sies for Miss Frances Lindsay was a lingerie shower given by Misses Carolyn and Margaret Kincaid -at their home in Besse mer City. ? ? ? Mrs. Raymond Miller enter tained for Miss Lindsay, bride elect, with a shower at her home on Shelby Road last Friday ev ening. ? * ? Another pre-nuptial courtesy was extended Miss Frances Lind say, bride of last week, when friends in Gastonia enterained in her honor. Mrs. C. E. Neisler DAR Hostess Mrs. C. E. Neisler was hostess on Wednesday afternoon to the Colonel Frederick Hambright Chapter. DAR at her home on Piedmont avenue. Red terries and evergreens were predominant in the Christ mas decorations throughout the home. Mrs. Tolly Shuford presided. The DAR has gone on record as opposed to World Government, j Papers were passed with the res olution and signed toy the local members. . Each member brought a gift to be seat a veteran. Twelve members responded to roll call. During the social period fol lowing the program the hostess served a frozen salad course with accessories. SUBSCRIBE TO THE HERALD W. O. W. To Have Christmas Party The members of the local W. O. W. and the W. O. W. Circle will have a joint meeting Saturday night in the Woman's Club. Miss Wilkie urges all members their wives and husbands to tend as this will be a Christmas party, Each one is to bring a gift to exchange.
