Chuich Part In Paiade Praised Rev. J. H. Brendall, president of the Kings Mountain Ministerial association, made public a letter of appreciation for church partic ipation In the Merchants associa tion's Christmas ^parade and said the Ministerial group -was "de lighted to play the constructive role of bringing Christ in Christ mas." Mr. Brendall's statement read: "In response to the urgent and Late Classifieds WANTED TO RENT ? Six-room house in good location. Phone 59. d-8-22. gracious invitation from the Mer chants Association the Ministeri al Association was delighted to play the constructive role in bringing "Christ . in Christmas" this year. We would rather hear expense and paihs in producing something helpful than in criti cising a lamentable trend toward celebrating Christmas as the bir thday or celebration of Santa Claus. "The cooperation by the laymen and women of the various chur ches was most gratifying. Hing ing around the hard work and di rection of Mrs. M, A. Ware, Mrs. E, W. Griffin and B. S. Peeler, Jr., the construction of the float was carried on despite the severe cold weather. We are all happy over the many favorable comments from many quarters. , "The float church, YOUR CHURCH, has been placed upon the library lawn, and will be lighted, by the courtejy of our city, throughout the Christmas season, thus reminding us all that it is through the church that Christ is brought to the world." He quoted the following letter, on behalf of the Merchants' as sociation, addressed to him by W. Falson Barnes, association secre tary: "We wish to offer our hear tiest congratulations to you and all the church people who were responsible for the wonderful float which you entered in our Christmas parade on November 30th. We definitely think your float was a step in the right di-. rection, and it is our hope that we shall be able to add more re ligious emphasis in our parade each year."
