Chrysanthemums, winter gar dens and greenery were used with charming effect throughout the home. Bridge was played pro gressively with high score prize going to Mrs. Howard Jackson ' and second high to Mrs. Amos Dean. Tables were arranged for re freshments and the hbstess serv ed Boston cream pie, coffee and nuL-j. and a new member, Mrs; Ralph Large Crowd Attend Club Night Christmas decorations were In evidence at the Country club Sat urday night and a large number of members enjoyed the buffet dinner, and entertainments. Bridge and canasta were play ed after dinner Mth Mrs. Sam Davis winning high score in bridge, Mrs. Jack Arnette receiv ing the low score award. In canasta prizes were given Mrs. H. R. Mrs. Dee Jackson opened the program with scripture followed with prayer by Frances Edens. Those taking part on the pro gram were Mrs. A1 Dunn, Betty Hayes, Betty Davis and Mrs. Dee Jackson. President, Joyce Foster, presid ed over the routine business. The group decided to remain as two circles having one meeting in the home, one in the church. Mrs. Jackson closed the meeting with prayer. Delicious refreshments were served by the hostess. The next meeting will be at the home of Mrs. Al Dunn on De cember 18th. each member is to bring a gift for under prlvlledged children. Mrs. Blackmer Fetes Tuesday Bridge Club Christmas decorations were used in the private dining room of the Country Club Tuesday af ternoon when Mrs. H. S. Black- 1 mer entertained the Tuesday! Bridge Club. I Berries, holly, Christmas greens and candles were used at vantage points in the room with a minature Christmas tree and Ct'ristmaa tallies on each table made a lovely setting for the party. : ./ ... i When scores were tallies Mrs. W. L. Ramseur held high for members, Mrs. L. E. Abbott for visitors, each receiving attractive gifts. j The Christmas theme was car ried out in the napkins and salad-sweet course served. | Garden Club Planning Pilgrimage Plans are being completed by the Kings Mountain Garden Club for its annual Christmas Pilgri ; mage on Thursday. December 22. This marks the second year the Garden Club has arranged for the people in the community to view Christmas decorations in in dividual homes; and it promises to be an outstanding occasion ill the yearly program of the club. Three home will be opened for inspection at which time the. public Is cordially invited and urged to participate in the pil grimage. Thv.- homes will be opened nom 3 until 6 in the af- ' temoort and 8 ui>til 10 in the! evening. The homes will feature, unusual and beautiful Christmas decorations. Mrs. Hunter Neisler will fea ture a pastel Christmas tree and a Christmas tea table. Mrs. George H. Mauney will use the traditional red and green giving special emphasis to a children's room at Christmas. Along with garden club mem bers Mrs. Mauney will be assis ted by her mother, Mrs. C. H. | Broward, ? of Charlotte, well known in Kings Mountain for her abilty along artistic lines. Mrs. H. C. Mayes will use an all-white color scheme In her decorations and will also feature her pine-panelled den in holiday dress. Light refreshments will be served. The admission will be one dol | lar, the proceeds will be used for club projects of beautification. Miss Webster Bride ; Of Halbert B. P. Lewis delightfully entertained members of the Home Arts Club Tuesday after noon in the large dining room of the Country Club. Christmas decorations were used, one clever arrangement was a replica of the recent Christmas parade given her, a nother unique table decoration was a skelton umbrella covered with Christmas card. Traditional berries and greens in unusual arrangements were used about the room. Mrs. W. R. Craig, leader for the afternoon, had a most interest ing program on Christmas music, with the Girls quartet from the high school accompanied by Jea nene Hall man and directed -by W. Howard Coble. The hostess was assisted in serving a Christmas salad and sweet course. Christmas Plans For Pauline Club Mrs. Annie Murphy and Mrs. Virginia Allen weje hostesses Tuesday night to the Pauline Community Club entertaining in the club house. The meeting was opened with singing, "I Need Thee Every Hour". The scripture lesson was given by Mrs. Annie Murphy followed with prayer by Mrs. Earl Ledford. During the business plans were made for bringing cheer to shut-ins for Christmas. Plans were completed lor the annual Christmas party to be held Tues day, December 19. Games and contests featured the entertainment during the so cial hour with Mrs. Earl Ledfotd receiving the prize. . Fruitcake, coffee and pctato chips were passed. Mrs. Jack Hul lender closed the meeting . with ?prayer. Canasta Club Meets With Mrs. D.
