Damages Reported lit Auto Accidents Two accidents have been re ported in this area by city po lice officers. On Saturday evening a vehicle driven by Vester Hull of Blacks - bung, S. C., collided with another car driven by James Roseburry of East Gqld street Hie Rose "burry car had stopped lor a red light on East King street when the impact occurred. Slight dam age was reported. [ Tuesday morning at 8:15 a. m., a Chevrolet car driven by Mrs. Faye Paysour ran into a pay Ipader on Phenix street. Damage of $300 was reported to the Pay sour vehicle. One of Lenoir Rhyne's to^-notch freshmen who has been playing quite a bit of ball for the North State Champs is Dick McMackin, who hails from the football-minded city of Kings Mountain. He has been used pri marily on defense all season and has turned in soma fine perfor mances from defensive right guard. ; Dick is expected to be playing quite a bit for the Mountain Bears in his remaining three years at Lenoir Rhyne. This year the Mountain Bears of Lenoir Rhyne rolled to eight straight victories and racked up their second North State crown. In the eight triumphs, the Bears ran up* a grand total of 358 points to set an all time scoring record in the North State Conference. On the defensive side of the picture the Bruins only allowed their opponents the slim margin of 57 points for uie entire season. The Lenoir Rhyne squad has been in earnest preparation this week for the post season tilt with the "Spartans" of Tampa Univer sity in the Cigar Bowl on Decem ber 13. From the sounds of things coming from the Bruin encampment the Bears will be out on December 13 to rack up their 15th straight victory with out a defeat. Vandalism Reported At Davidson Camp A reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of person or persons damaging property at Davidson Memorial Scout Camp. According to report received yesterday, vandals have destroy ed lights and lighting fixtures at the camp and damaged other properties. The sheriff's office has been advised and has stated '.hat the Scout Camp will be patrolled reg ularly, with a particular effort to arrest and to prosecute offen ders. Largo Group Attends Legion Meeting ? One of the largest and best attended meetings of Otis D. Green Post 155, the American Legion, during the past several months was held at the Legion Hall last Friday night. Commander Sam Collins pre sided and some 30 members were present. After diacu53ion of several items of business, Membership Officer James Bennett issued cards to the members present who were asked to join in the membership drive. . Fleete McCurdy had charge of the program.
