C? and Char Jottte, and Donald Patrick Wilson, of Augusta, Ga., and Kings Moun tain, exchanged marriage vows Saturday afternoon, December l8tb, at 4 o'clock in an impressive candlelight ceremony in Blacks burg's Broad River Baptist church. Rev. C. T, Cobb, pastor of the church, officiated at the double ling servkte. Wedding music was presented by Mrs. James Logan, of Kings Mountain, organist, and Robert Max Blackburn, of Char lotte, vocalist, who sang "Be cause" by D'Hardelot, "O Pro mise Me" by deKoven, and "Wed ding Prayer" by Dunlap. Given in marriage by her broth ter, Haywood Porter, the bride wore a street - length dress of Dior blue lace lined in taffeta, molded Into an empire waist-line with draped V-front and short sleeves. The genferous flared skirt p. was enhanced by bands of satin ^ In graduating tiers, and her hat wgs a half-shell adorned with se quins and pearl studded lace with shoulder - length veil. She carrl -ted a white satin - covered prayer book topped with a white orchid end showered with satin stream ers tied in love knots. . Miss Shirley Moss, of Charlotte, was the bride's maid of honor and only attendant. She wore a street length dress fashionted with tight ly-fitted strapless bodice with a short matching velvet bolero jac Entertained At Christmas Party : v Jlr. and Mrs. M. A. Ware, Jr., entertained Thursday evening at dinner at Kings Mountain Coun try club. Forty-five guests attend ed the Christmas party. , U-shatx il dining tablle, cov ered with a green cloth, was de corated at each corner with frost ed fruits, greenery, and candles. The buffet table held a minlaturte Christmas tree, angels, and red ribbon streamers. Other decora-, tions carried out the red and* green holiday theme. Smith, of Klng% Moun tain, brother-in-law of the groom, was best-man. Ushers were Char les Alexander, of Kings Moun tain, Woodrow Porter, of Blacks burg, S. C., and Max Blackburn, of Charlotte. Mrs. Porter, mother of the bride, wore a navy blue suit with accessories in light blue. Mrs. Wilson, mother of the groom, was dressed in blue with light blue accessories. Each of the mothers wore a shoulder corsage of white carnations. Mrs. Wilson, daughter of Mrs. W. P. Porter, of Blacksburg, S. C., and the late Mr. Porter, is a grad uate of Blacksburg Centralized high school and is employed in Charlotte at Union National Bank. The groom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Seth Wilson of Kings Mountain, is a graduate of Kings Mountain high school, served in the Army three years, and is employed by the U. S. government in Aiken, S. C. After thfe ceremony, the couple left for a wedding trip through the mountains of Western North Carolina. , For traveling the bride wore a biege knit suit with brown acces sories and the orchid taken from her bridal bouquet. Seism Not Guilty "Of Assaulting Wile Earl Seism, of Oriental avenue, was found not guilty of assault on his wife, Juanita Seism, in City recorder's court Tuesday after noon. Seism plead not guilty and said his wife had slapped him, deny ing he had struck his wife. Mrs. Seism admitted thfe two had been arguing for several days before the alleged incident occurred but couldn't remember the exact cause of the argument. Horace Evterett Mathis, of Or landa, S. C., was handed an 18 months road sentence after a guilty .verdict was handed down by Judge Jack White on a charge of abandonment and non-support. Sentence for Mathis, who stated he was willing to support his fa mily, was suspended on condition that hie make a payment of $18 each Saturday to the court clerk for the support of his family, and pay costs of court. Submitting to a charge of pos sessing non-tax paid liquor for the purpose of sale netted Mil lard Hunter, Negro, of 105 Da vidson "Street, a six months road sentence. Hunter's sentence was suspended on condition that he be of good behavior and not sell' intoxicating liquor or have It in hte possession non-tax paid liquor for a period of one year, pay a $20 fine and costs of court. J. W. Melton, entering a plfea of guilty to a charge of issuing to H & M Food Store a worthless check in the amount of $23.83, was handed a four months road sentence. Melton's sentence was suspended on condition that he bte of good behavior for four mon ths, and pay costs of court A 30-day road sentence was handed to James O. McClain, Ne gro, of 314 Chllders street, on a charge of falling to pay prosecut ing witness, W. M. Nanney, Jr., of Gastonia, a $3.50 taxi fare. The defendant's sentende was suspend ed on condition that he pay the taxi fare and costs pf court. A six months road sentence on a charge of driving while drunk was handed Aaron Andrew Brooks with sentence suspended on condition that Brooks pay a $100 fine, and costs of court. In addition, the State of South Caro lina is to be notified of the con viction with recommendation that the defendant's South Carolina li cense be revolted. One case was continued, that of Jade Gaddy charged with assault on a female, and one capias was Issued for a defendant charged with public drunkenness.
