Mrs. Meir was born in the Sov iet Union, educated in the United States and went as 'a bride 'to Palestine where she •became in volved in the cause of the com mon man, 'it was stated. Being objective and fearless, she nevei shrinks her responsibility when injustices come to her attention or when the lives of her people hang in the balance. She cele brated her birthday with a party at The Forest Hills Club House on Feb ruary 13. Thirty of Debbie's friends attended. Games were played and several dance contests were held. The children were served punch, nuts, candy, and birthday cake. Debbie’s maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Paul Owens of Kings Mountain and her paternal grand parents are Mr. and Mrs. Claude Johnson of Four Oaks, North Carolina. Debbie's mother is the former Louise Owens.
