Neal, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Moody E. Payne of Rt. 1, Bessemer aty, N. C., has grduated from the U. S. Air Force medical service officers orientation course at Sheppard AFB, Tex. Hie course Is designed to acquaint newly com missioned Medical Corps officers with the profes sional and administrative procedures of the Air Force. Lieutenant Neal is returning to her North Carolina ANG unit at Charlotte, whered she will serve as a clinical nurse. Hie lieutenant, a 1971 graduate of Bessemer City ISgh School, received a degree In nursing from the Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing, Charlotte, N. C. Her husband, Charles B. Johnny TUler, Interment following in Sunset Memorial Park in Forest aty. Mrs. Ashe, widow of WlUlam Ashe, died at her home Tuesday morning. She was a native of Rutherford County, daugh ter of the late Samuel and Loretta BaUey Shepherd. Also surviving are one sen, Ira Ashe of Charles ton, m.; two daughters, Mrs. Edna Smart and Mrs. Glenda CampbeU, both of Shelby; two brothers, Jesse Shepherd of Ellenboro and Jim Shepherd of Shelby; two sisters, Mrs. Daisey Barker of Marlon and Mrs. Ina Mae Allen of Shelby; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. George Leigh, Rev. John Frazier, Rev. S. W. Avery and Rev. Joe Luther. Burial was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. Green, 63, of Rt. 4, Kings Mountain, died at 1:16 p. m. Saturday In Kings Mountain Hospital following an Illness of several months. A native of Cleveland County, Green wm a former em ploye of Magnolia Finishing Co. He was a veteran of World War ’Two. Survivors are his widow, Frances Lanier Green; one son, Michael Green; five daughters, Mrs. Gloria Diane Moon of Concord, Mrs. Shirley McQueen of Boone, Miss Shelia Green, Miss Margo Green and Miss Amy Green of Kings Mountain; five brothers.
