Tech Reports New ^ Location For Oass Cleveland Tech’s Con tinuing Education Depart ment has announced a new iKl location for a Macrame class to be taught at Colonial MIU OuUet, High way 74 West. at Mooresboro. '.'tnstrvKtoi* * will be Carolyn Dedmond who Is experienced In macrame designs and patterns. TTie course will begin on ‘ February 6 at 9 o’clock and will meet for 11 weeks 9 a. m. to 13 noon on ’Tuesdays. ^ Ihe $5 registration fee for V the course is waived for persons age 8B and older. Mon., February B, at the Uptown Annex, Stella Prlne Hum phries teaching; tailoring Wed. 7 p. m., Feb. 7, at the Uptown Annex, R. D. Lucas teaching; tailoring ’ITiurs., 7 p. m., Feb. 8, at Kings Mountain Com munity Center, R. D. Lucas Instructor. Each of the sewing classes will meet once ehch week for 13 weeks. Continuing Education has also scheduled a morning class In upholstering to begin on the ’Tech campus Mon., Feb. B at 8 o’clock. Kathleen Wilson will be Instructor with classes meeting two mornings a week, Monday and Wed nesday 8 a. m. to 13 noon until April 11. Danish Counted Cross Stitch to be taught by Harriett Holton will begin on the Tech campus, Ihurs., Feb. 8, In room 1002. In the evenings Clem Mathis would come from work and play the piano and his son Johnny would sing along. At ag^ 18, Mathis began taking professional lessons In opera. When he was 19 years old Mathis signed a recording contract with Columbia records. A string of hit singes and albums have followed his first release, "Wonderful, Wonderful.’’ Mathis, who has been singing for nearly 30 years, has racked up a phenomenal number of hits. Eighteen of his more than 80 albums have reached gold status.
