King St. New promotions, In cluding the re-election of Tate as president, treasiu'er and managing officer, were Nancy S. Seism, vice president- secretary; Bonnie S. KINGS MOUNTAIN SCHOOL OF GYMNASTICS Bridges, assistant vice president-branch (BC) manager; Judy P. Oawford, assistant vice president-branch (KH) manager. The following officers were re-elected; Fred J. Wright Jr., chairman of the board; Bright D. Ratterree, vice IS'esldent; Rufus S. Plonk, president emeritus; Jacob A. Dixon, vice president- loan officer; James B. Ware, loan officer; and Jerry Ledford, controller. Other directors re-elected were B. S. Peeler, Dr. Paul Hendricks, Fred J. Wright Jr., Grady P. Cheshire, Thomas A. Tate Sr., B. D. Ratterree, R. S. Plonk, Charles Blanton and Jack H. White. Home Savings and Loan Association paid $2,408,666.11 In dividends to savers in 1978, according to statistics furnished at the annual meeting. “We helped 180 families purchase homes In our community last year Tate said. "Altogeth« Home loaned $6,416,761 local families and 1 dlvlduals during 1978." . Tate said he was “personally cautiously optimistic about 1979. We feel that Home will have another good year; cer tainly we enter 1979 In a strong position. Savings gains at Home Savlnga and Loan totaled $4,209,888.78 and savings deposits amounted to $37,968,909.91 through Dec. 31, 1978, the association’s fiscal year end. Total assets at that time were $42,671,626.61. Tate agreed with President Carter that the number one problem in the country Is Inflation, but added that he does not see any “money crunch" like tight money markets have brought In the past.
