ACT Head Steve Wells Honored At Convention The annual convention of the North Carolina Association of Classroom Teachers (NC-ACT) was held Thursday at the Charlotte Civic Center. Approximately 2,000 delegates represented various local units in North Carolina. A highlight of the day was the presentation of a beautifully- framed certificate of apprecia- tion to Wells by John Henry Moss, Mayor of Kings Moun- tain. Mayor Moss addressed the delegates and reiterated the pride that Kings Mountain has to its teacher in his accomplishment in being state president. The certificate read: “To STEVE WELLS William Steven Wells for his contribution to education and to the community of Kings Moun- tain by his having served as NC- ACT President 1981-82.” It was signed by Mayor John Henry Moss and the City of Kings Mountain.
