Hord announces the engagement of her daughter, Lisa Carol Hord, to Donald Scott Batchler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Don J. Batchler of Grover, z A The bride-to-be is a 1979 graduate of Kings Mountain Senior High School and attended Gaston College. The prospective bridegroom is a 1978 graduate of Kings Mountain High School and is employed by Minette Mills. A September 11 wedding is planned at First Baptist Church. Miss Hord is also the daughter of the late Joe Lawrence Hord. Shower Held For Kim Miss Kim Porter, whose wed- ding to Greg Tate will take place June 5, was honored with a bridal shower at the home of her mother, Mrs. JoAnn Porter. Hostesses were Dot Carrigan and Nadine Bagwell. Fifty guests attended the shower. They were entertained with games of Bride’s Bingo.
