Evelyn Elliott. left to right, are pictured above Building Dedicated The Cleveland County Chapter - American Red Cross Board of Directors recently dedicated its: new building to Horace B. Ledford, current Chapter Chairman, with the in- stallation of a handsome bronze plaque. The incription - reads, ‘‘American Red Cross, Cleveland County Chapter, dedicates this building to Horace B. Ledford, without who it would not have become a reality.” Ledford said at the dedication, “Thank you all for this undeserv- ed honor. I only had a small part in the success of the Red Cross and it’s embarrassing to receive such a high honor. I have never worked in the community for personal recognition and have received many honors I did not deserve. 1 re-dedicate this building to he citizens of Cleveland County. They raised ‘Wizard’ Slated At KMHS The Creative Drama Class and Drama Club of Kings Mountain High School will pre- sent “The Wizard of Oz” December 24 at B.N. Barnes Auditorium. Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. December 2 and 3 and at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on December 4. Tickets are $2 for adults and $1 for children and students. Car Check Schedule AT KMHS The auto mechanics class of Kings Mountain High is offering a free winterization automobile check-up to the public until November 19. Those interested in receiving this service may call 739-4022 for an appointment. The service checks include an inspection of radiator, all hoses, all V-belts, anti-freeze content level, and a pressure test of the cooling system. Bill Johnson, auto-mechanics instructor at the high school will supervise the service. Paintings On Display Paintings of Bonita Lowe Mullinax of Kings Mountain will be on display during the month of November at Malcolm Brown Auditorium in Shelby. Mrs. Mullinax’s collection in- cludes water and oil, portraits and pastels and drawings in graphite and colored pencils. Mrs. Mullinax has displayed her work in Kings Mountain, Shelby, Gastonia, Lancaster, S.C., Lincolnton and the WSOC Juried Show in Charlotte. SONG SERVICE There will be a special song service Sunday at 7 p.m. at Pathway Baptist Church on Parkdale Circle in Kings Moun- tain. Featured group will be “The Trinity Gospel Singers” of Kings Mountain. The pastor, Rev. James Hamrick, invites the public to attend. The Society is one of the most selective high school honoraries in America. Membership is not only an honor but also an incen- tive for those exhibiting top per- formance while in high school.
