November 4, 1982 25TH ANNIVERSARY - James “Sonny” Wilson of Kings Moun- tain cuts a cake at an employee picnic celebrating Dicey Fabric’s 25th anniversary on October 23. Wilson, Dicey'’s first employee hired in July of 1957, retired earlier this year. Before joining Dicey, Wilson worked many years for the Neisler fami- ly at the Pauline and Margrace plants. Wilson resides in the Bethware Community. : KM Police Report Only One Accident Kings Mountain, struck a park- ed car owned by Anell Guin of Route 1, Kings Mountain. Damage was $50 to Guin’s 1974 Pontiac and $50 to Jackson’s 1977 Dodge van. Kings Mountain police reported only one wreck during the past week. Monday at 10:34 a van driven by Allie Jackson of Route 4, Hubcaps Catch Eye Of Local Thieves Halloween was quiet in Kings Mountain except for the usual number of larcenies which have kept city policemen busy of late. The police department reported eight larcenies during the past week. Half of them in- volved hubcaps. Reports included: Katherine Owens Blanton of Route 1, Kings Mountain, _ reported the theft of $400 worth of hubcaps off her car while it was parked at East School. Archie Ross of 802 Vance Street reported the larceny of $100 cash. Connie Davis of 127 Ark Street reported the theft of one hubcap valued at $100. Jim Testa Chevrolet reported the theft of four hubcaps off a 1980 Pontiac and four hubcaps off a 1977 Mercury. The sets of hubcaps were valued at $400 each. Thieves also attempted to steal speakers and an AM/FM Loaces Wins Fish Tourney Jesus Loaces of Shelby won the Cleveland County Bass Club’s 10th tournament of the year Saturday at Lake Green- wood, S.C. Loaces caught fish weighing six pounds, nine ounces. He also caught the biggest fish of the day, weighing four pounds and one ounce. John Rankin of Shelby finish- ed second with a catch of three pounds, 13 ounces, and Mike Seawright of Kings Mountain was third with three pounds, three ounces. With two tournaments re- maining, Rankin and Seawright are tied for the overall point lead with 241 points. The next tourney is Sat., Nov. 13 at Lake Hickory. CLOSE-OUT SAVINGS!
