Give Me A Perm Lillie Huffstetler Ledford, of Route 5, had an appointment with her hairdresser Thursday but she didn’t expect to get there in the manner in which she arriv- ed, she told Kings Mountain / Police. Mrs. Ledford was operating a 1976 Chevrolet which she was attempting to park when the gas pedal stuck and the car crashed into the house, boat and shrub- bery at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Canipe, 605 Alex- ander St. Mrs. Canipe is Mrs. Ledford’s beautician. The houseboat and shrubs were damaged approximately $1500 and Mrs. Ledford’s car was damaged approximately $1,000. Did she have her hair done after the accident? Of course she told investigating officers. Allison Retires From Page 1-A zoning board and a director of First Federal Savings and Loan Association. He served as one of the judges for the recent Cancer Jail A Thon. The Allisons are parents of two children. Sharon Allison is a kindergarten teacher in Charlotte and Kevin Allison is in graduate school at Depaul University in Chicago,lll. Mr. Allison says he has no definite plans for retirement years but that all his friends and associates say that he will “have plenty to do and work just as hard” after he leaves the educa- tional field. Reunion Scheduled The annual reunion of the Van and Sussanne Grigg descen- dants will be held May 20 at the Depot Center in Kings Moun- tain beginning at 12 noon. Drew Exposition beginning Tuesday and continuing through May 20. The parking area of Mountain City Building Supply at 227 Cherokee Street will feature family rides, including the new Super Himalya from France, Europe’s fastest and most popular thrill sensation. Special family night Tuesday night will feature unlimited rides for $5 from $5 until 10 p.m. Churches To Walk For Hungry Four churches in Grover will sponsor a Hunger Walk Sat., May 19 beginning at 9 a.m. The 10-mile walk will begin in front of Shiloh Presbyterian Church at 9 a.m. In case of rain, the walk will be shortened to three miles. Senior citizens will walk one mile regardless of the weather. The walk is being sponsored by Shiloh Presbyterian, First Baptist, Bethany Baptist and the Bible of Holiness Churches. All residents of the community are urged to particfPate. For sponsor sheets, call Rev. Harold Hut- chinson at Shiloh Presbyterian Church (937-7588). One-half of the funds raised from the walk will go toward beginning ‘at Food Pantry in Grover, and the other ‘one-half will go to fight "world hunger through either the Church World Service or the Southern Baptist Hunger Relief Ministry.
