QUESTION:A hunting cam- panion told me recently that the dove hunting season would be open this year around the Thanksgiving holidays. Can you verify this and give the dates the season will be open. Also, will the shooting hours be all day or half a day? S.A. Lenoir. ANSWER: The information your friend gave you is correct. This year the Wildlife Resources Commission opted to take a week off the end of the early season, when birds are scarce, and make those days available for a week of dove hun- ting around the Thanksgiving holidays. Doves migrating in from northern states are general- ly quite numerous then and many North Carolina sportsmen RONALD KISER Kiser Elected To Hall Ronald Kiser, sports editor of out sister paper, The Cherryville | Eagle, will be inducted into the North Carolina Legion Baseball Hall of Fame at its 18th annual banquet February 2 at Club Carolina in Cherryville.
