The course was held in Fayet- teville, N.C. and was spon- sored by the Realtors Na- “tional Marketing Institute. The ‘Advanced Listing Practices’’ course provides skills in effective listing and marketing techniques. The Instructors for the course ne were Connie Perreira, CRS of Union City, California and Jerry O’Neill, CRS of Englewood, Colorado. RS 101: ‘Advanced Listing Practices” is one of a series of courses leading to the prestigious CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) designation. During the two days of lec- ture and discussion sessions, Alexander acquired skills and knowledge in creative listing techniques, understan- ding seller’s problems, clos- ing the sale, the latest financ- ing techniques and counsel- ing the seller in property valuation. ‘‘As a result of the course, I feel I have gained greater awareness of the latest sales methods and will be able to better serve my clients and represent their properties professionally,” said Alex- ander. ° : ; Party Honors Robin The home of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Bumgardner at 806 Hillside Drive was the setting for a barnyard party honor- ing Bride-Elect Robin Elaine Davis and Michael Berry on Sat., March 16th, at 7 p.m. in the evening. n & Heather Melton - Heather - Winner Heather Melton, West School third grader and daughter of Teresa and James Melton of Kings Moun- tain, is North Carolina’s Most Beautiful Majorette among nine and ten year olds. She won the title and trophy during a competition with 25 other young ladies at ‘Gastonia’s Ashbrook High School Saturday night. Miss Melton received a sash and flowers, along with the trophy, and came away with a total of five trophies and awards for the competi- tion. In all, she has won a total of 30 trophies in pageant competition. The 1983 Little Miss Kings Mountain is a baton student at Goldettes Dance Studio of Gastonia and a dance student of Jane Campbell in Kings Mountain. She has been stu- dying dancing and baton since the age of three. Her grandparents are Mrs. Emma Wallace of Kings Mountain and Mrs. Geneva Melton of Shelby. Shower Honors Sherry Railey Miss Sherry Railey, whose wedding to Melvin Gene McMahan takes place May 18th in Grace United Methodist Church, was honored Sunday, March 17th, at a St. Patrick’s: Day - household shower. Entertaining together were Penny Hall, Rita Robinson and Shirley Roper. A green and white tablecloth accented - with shamrocks covered the refreshment table from which sausage balls were served with nuts, olives and crackers with green shamrock decorated cakes- quares and green punch.j Miss Railey was presented a corsage of yellow daisies tied with green bows to wear with her party dress. fi Twenty ests showered the bride-elect miscellaneous househo gifts. Hand- embroidered tablecloths were used with jonquils and forsythia blossoms as center- pieces. Chicks, ducks, and pies were used as napkin olders. Gifts for the bride- elect were from her Special Education Class at Northside Children’s Center in Shelby, where she is employed. Guests included members of the wedding party. Rev. and Mrs. Larry Puryear were special guests. Rev.
