Page 2B-KINGS MOUNTAIN HERALD-Thursday, April 25, 1985 Five Winners Selected In K-7 Talent Show Jarvis Adams, Heather Melton, Erin Wright, Paul Chen and Peter Chen were first place winners in the an- nual Kiwanis Club Schools Talent Show for Grades K-7 Thursday night at B.N. Barnes Auditorium. Jarvis is a first grade stu- dent at East Elementary School and is the son of An- nette Adams. He performed a break dance routine to ‘Freaks Come Out At Night.” Heather is a third grade student at West Elementary School and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Melton. She won her division with a dance routine to the music of “Oklahoma.” Erin, a fourth grade stu- dent at West School and JARVIS ADAMS daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Wright, won first place in the 4-5 grades divi- sion with her singing rendi- tion of ‘‘“Tomorrow.”’ In the 6-7 grade division the winners were Paul and Peter Chen, sons of Dr. and Mrs. K.F. Chen for a violin duet, “Concerto In A Minor.” Jonas Bridges was master of ceremonies for the talent show and the Kings Mountain Little Cloggers, under the direction of Mrs. Kathy James, provided special entertainment. Plaques were presented to the winners by the Kiwanis Club. Other participants includ- ed: Kindergarten-First Grade: Joey Edwards, break dancing to ‘Reckless’, Yara HEATHER MELTON Langston singing ‘‘Rainbow and Roses’’, Aaron Patterson presented a dramatic presen- tation; and Ricky Carroll sang ‘“The World Is A Rain- bow.” In the Second-Third Grade Division Travis Spilker presented a magic act; Scott Brooks and Tony Goins danc- ed to ‘Roxanne, Roxanne’; Gary Hughes break danced to ‘‘Electric Boog-a-100’’; Christy Robbs and Cindy Robbs presented a jazz gym- nastics routine to “Ghostbusters” and Santi Sourisoud and Lamount Lit- tlejohn danced to ‘Breakin’. In the Fourth-Fifth Grade Division Becky Senter danc- ed to “Footloose” and Tam- my - Tessener, Michael Phillips, Tasha Parker, Je ERIN WRIGHT Myranee Weaver and Tim Adams presented a puppet show; Holly Harmon clogged to ‘‘Foggy Mountain Breakdown” and Kimberly Hoyle played the piano. In the Sixth-Seventh Grade Division Shawn Friday and Shedrick Byrd, Timmy Mc- Clain, ~ Alphonso Miller and Petie McNeal breakdanced to “Master Mix” and Ashley Champion and Allison Barnett clogged to ‘Uncle Pen.” The Kiwanis School Talent Show for Grades 8-12 will be held Thursday, May 2, at 7:30 p.m. in B.N. ‘Barnes Auditorium.
