Her worth to the Central School library program is inestimable.” 10 Class Reunions Scheduled Gardner-Webb College’s Alumni Day 1985 will be held Saturday, April 27, and this year’s event will include 10 class reunions, award presentations, two meals and entertainment. The classes participating in the reunions this year will in- clude the classes of 1984, 1980, 1975, 1965, 1960, 1955, 1950, 1945, 1940 and 1935. “Class committees have been working diligently toward contacting the members of each class to in- vite them back to Alumni Day,” said Evans Whitaker, director of foundations and corporations at G-W who also handles special events. . Alumni Day 1985 will have activities to keep alumni busy from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Professors Robert Blackburn, Doris Jones, Robert Lamb and Bill Stowe will be lecturing on their favorite topics to begin the day’s activities. Alumni awards will be presented at the awards lun- cheon. Awards include Alum- nus of the Year, Service to the College, Service to the Church and Service to the Community. “Bright Ideas for Contem- porary Living,” a group of one-hour seminars, will begin afternoon activities. These seminars include these topics: Family Financial Planning, Strengthening Family Relationships in the 80’s, Computers in the Home and Taking Advantage of Be- ing Single. The Alumni Country Picnic in Bost gymnasium will follow the afternoon sessions. “Alumni can fill their ‘all you can eat’ plates with fried chicken, foot-long hot dogs and all the fixins’,” Whitaker sai Entertainment will be pro- vided by the Peeler’s Mill Country band at the picnic. After dinner, Mike Cross, a singer guitarist, fiddler and songwriter will give a con- cert. Cross will sing ballads, countey rock and folk-pop songs. “Make sure you ‘Join the Comeback’ April 27,” Art Exhibition Slated The fine arts department at Gardner-Webb College will hold a student art exhibition April 26-May 2 in the Dover Memorial Library at the Boil- ing Springs campus. An opening preview, open to the public at no cost, will be held in the library from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 25. The exhibition will include art works by Bella Allen, Rachel Carter, Robin Carpenter, Cathy Cline, Don Donald, Wendy Hazelworth, Stephen Hise, Lynda Martens and Patty Redman. Gardner-Webb is a liberal arts college affiliated with the Baptist State Convention .degrees.
