Back row, John Grant and Tim Moyer. ‘Mousetrap’ Set Next Week The Kings Mountain Little Theatre will present the Agatha Christie classic “The Mousetrap’” at Parkgrace Auditorium on May 17,18,24 and 25 at 8 p.m.; and also a matinee performance on Sun- " day, May 19, at 3 p.m. “The Mousetrap’, which held a world record for the longest continuous run at one theatre, is the story about a 3 ‘group of strangers stranded Hold Newton Convention Sod The 10th District Republicans held their con- vention on Saturday, April 20th, in Newton, represented by delegates from Avery, Burke, Caldwell, Catawba, Cleveland, Gaston and Watauga counties. Cleveland County was represented by 31 delegates. { Mrs. Iva L. Beam and Mrs. Dorothy C. McNamara of Kings Mountain were among the county delegates. Bettie C. Hooks of Burke County was elected chairman of the 10th District. John Cabiness of Lattimore, chair- man of the Cleveland County Republican Party, was elected vice chairman. Congressman James T. Broyhill of Lenoir spoke to the convention of his 10th district. At the end of the speech, he introduced the convention keynote speaker, Honorable Phil Kirk, Secretary of the N.C. The entire production is to Congressman Broyhill in Washington, D.C. 1978-84. His dynamic speech drew numerous convention floor applauses and a standing ovation. Plans are now being made for the state convention with State Executive com- mittee members being elected at the convention. Serving on this committee from Cleveland County will be Skip McCartney, Griswald Gwenette and Pat Hamner. Delegates are gearing up for the state convention in June.
