A pep rally boosted the spirit in the school. Prin- cipal Ronnie Wilson said that the overall enthusiasm was terrific, but he presented the Spin stick to the Seniors. He also announced that the game would be played on Saturday. ‘The Mountaineers traveled to Shelby to blank the Lions 70. Kings Mountain fans, who packed the stadium with standi § room only, raced to the field to celebrate a vic- tory over arch rival Shelby Lions. When asked the uestion—‘‘What are your thoughts about the game Saturday night?’’—these peo- ple said: ; Danny Hamrick: It was pretty well worth the trip. Keith Duncan: Rose are red, violets are blue, We're number one, and they're number two. Lynn Grigg: I thought it was wonderful. I loved it. Andrew Faust: MAAAHVELOUS! Asa Nord: Vilken match! Jaghoppas vi vinner pa fredag ocksa. Kop Skor! Jennifer Bradley: It doesn’t matter if we go on any further to me since we beat Shelby. Eric Hicks: I think the coaches did an excellent job. I am very proud of our team. They showed their pride and determination by shutting down Shelby. Way to go Mounties! Several Automobile Wrecks Keep KM Police Busy City police were called to the scene of several automobile accidents durin the weekend, most of whic occurred in parking lots. + A hit and run accident in-- volving a parked car owned by Mitzi Jo Stamper, of Grover, occurred in the park- ing lot of KM Plaza Nov. 20th, and Ms. Stamper’s 1981 Toyota was damaged $150. “A 1976 Pacer operated by William Joseph Mayes, Route 2, struck a 1976 Pontiac ‘operated by Sheila Hayes, 919 Linwood Road, on East King Street Nov. 20th. There were slight damages, according to the police, totaling $90. - Dale Putnam, Jr., of Route 5, operating a 1977 Ford on W. Mountain St., on Nov. 21, hita 1971 Ford operated by Howard Lutz, Hills ide Drive. Total damages were $1250. ‘A parking lot accident at Phifer’s Hardware on Nov. 21 involved cars owned by Christopher Lynn Wright, 701 Church St., and a parked car owned by Bridges Auto Ser- was damaged $25 struck the parked car which was amaged $300. d Ave. The ‘Wright 1977 Chevrolet, which A hit-and-run accident oc- curred on Nov. 22 at the park- ing lot at TG&Y and involved a parked 1981 Datsun owned by Tony Dale Henson, Route 1, Grover, which was damag- ed $300. Nell Leonhardt, Phenix Street, operating a 1973 ‘Dodge which was damaged $25, struck a parked vehicle owned by Ronald Barber, Fairview Street, in the park- ing lot of McAbee Grocery. The Barber vehicle was damaged $150. The accident occured on Nov. 22. John Cogdell, 606 Mauney Ave.; operating a 1983 Ford which was damaged $600, struck a 1979 Chevrolet operated by Ricky Hamrick which was damaged $600 at the intersection of King Spee and York Road Nov. 24th. : City Police Report Larceny, Vandalism City police are in- vestigating several reports of larceny and vandalism. City of Kings Mountain Garage was broken into dur- ing the weekend and thieves took $495 worth of tools. Doug Burch, 1003 Brookwood, reported the theft of hubcaps valued at $450. James Sullens, 1009 N. Piedmont Ave., reported that someone took a bicycle and an assortment of jewelry valued at $450. Beginning Dec. 2, unlimited visits.
