Kings Mountain Women To Attend District Meeting Miss Flora Jean Craig, state president of the American Legion Auxiliary, will make the keynote ad- dress at the District 23 meeting Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Forest City Unit 74 at the Post Home in Forest City. Members of Kings Moun- tain Unit 155 will attend the meeting as well as members of Units in neighboring Shelby, Rutherfordton, Forest City and Spindale. Mrs. Arlene Barrett of Kings Mountain, state vice president and membership chairman, will introduce Miss Craig and lead a membership rally. FLORA JEAN CRAIG District 23 President Ruth Ruff of Kings Mountain will preside and Unit 155 Presi- dent Ruth Gamble of Kings Mountain will present annual report from the local unit. Senior Adult Rally Slated Friday At Gardner-Webb BOILING SPRINGS—The Department of Aging of the North Carolina Baptist State Convention (NCBSC) has chosen Gardner-Webb Col- lege as one of eight locations for a regional senior adult rally. “Fulfillment of HIS Pur- pose’ will be the theme of the April 18 rally to be held from 10 am.-2 p.m. in G-W’s Kathleen Dover theater. The rally is open to the public free of charge although a fee will be charg- ed for lunch and an offering will be taken to help with ex- penses. John T. Bunn, associate director of the division of missions with the NCBSC, is the featured speaker. Mrs. Mary Edith Rogers will speak on aspects of the American Association of - Retired Persons at the Kings Mountain. Senior Rally At G-W On Sunday, April 27, the Gaston County Children’s Council, along with North Carolina National Bank, will sponsor ‘‘Time Out for . Children’, a celebration of children with emphasis on family fun. This event is designed to | bring to the attention of the - community the needs of : children and their families and the Children’s Council’s role is helping to address these needs. Gaston County Park will be filled with activities for the whole family from 2:00-5:00 p.m., with registration begin- ning at 1:00 p.m. The ac- tivities will include games, relays, races, clowns, storytelling by the Foothill Yarn Spinners, and more.
