Lovelace of Kings Mountain announce the engagement of their daughter, Deana Elaine, to Gregory Alan Gould, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard E. Gould of Shelby. The bride-elect, granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.A. Goforth and Mrs. Eunice Lovelace and the late Zeno Lovelace, all of Kings Mountain, is a 1982 graduate of Kings Mountain Senior High School, at- tended Western Carolina University and graduated in 1986 from Cleveland Technical College with A.A. S. in Business Administration and was a member of Gamma Beta Phi. She is employed by Thurston Motor Lines, Inc. of Charlotte. Mr. Gould, a 1983 graduate of Burns High School and 1985 graduate of Cleveland Technical College with A.A. S. in Business Administration, is presently attending Central Com- munity College in Charlotte and is employed by Plastic Pip- ing Systems, Charlotte. He is a member of Gamma Beta phi and is grandson of Mrs. Florence Fox and the late Frank G. Fox of St. Louise, Mo. and Mrs. Dortha Gould and the late George J. Gould of Kimberly City, Mo. President Of KM Little Theatre The Kings Mountain Little Theater has elected Doyle Campbell to be its president | Camp- bell has been active with the Little Theater for four years and on the Board of Directors 1 for the past three years. The Kings Mountain Little Auditions a Cherryville Little Theatre ~~ will hold o n auditions for the musical play; “ANNIE” at the Cherryville Little | Theatre on West Academy St. . onJunel4at2p.m. and June 15 at 3:30 p.m. Please bring some music as you will be asked to do a short musical number if you are going to try out for one of singing roles. Those interested only in chorus or a non-singing role need not worry about this part of the audition. All roles are open for casting with the DOYLE CAMPBELL Theater is funded in part by the Grass Roots Grant from the North Carolina Arts Council. Entertaining together were Mrs. Jack Brawley of Charlotte, Mrs. Willis Nesbit of Lake Norman and Mrs. Charles Nooney of Birm- ingham, Alabama. Miss Tulbert will marry Todd Ware of Concord on June 28th and Miss Ware will mary Bryant Herndon of Charlotte on August 2nd. Miss Ware and Mr. Ware are children of Mr. and Mrs. Mof- fatt Ware of Concord, former- ly of Kings Mountain, and grandchildren of Mr. and Mrs. H. Carl Mayes of Kings Mountain and the late Mr. American Legion Auxiliary To Install Officers Tuesday Mrs. J.D. Barrett will in- stall new officers of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 155 at Tuesday’s meeting at 7:30 p.m. at the American Legion Building. Dancers Entertain Jennifer Mrs. Kaye Robbs and her two daughters, Christy and Cindy, entertained Jennifer Campbell, a bride-elect along with their dance class and defies teacher, Jane Camp- ell. Members of the dance class of The Dance Academy who attended were Windy Bagwell, Laura Bell, Jayda Biddix, Lisa Dalton, Lora Goins, Jill Jimison, Amber Jordan, Kimberly Ledford, Charity Moss, Nicole Setzer, Andrea Shell, and Jada Williams. Also present were their mothers and Matoka Campbell, mother of the bride-elect. Everyone enjoyed an after- noon at the Robb’s pool and afterwards a cookout around the pool. Jennifer Campbell was presented her gift, two water glasses’ in her crystal pat- tern, by the dance class. Buffet Honors Kevin Miss Kevin Jenkins and John Plonk, III, whose wed- ding will be uy 27, were honored at a cocktail buffet, Saturday, June 7th, by Mr. and Mrs. James Herndon at their home on Herndon Farm Road. Entertaining with the Herndons were Mr. and Mrs. Mrs. James Herndon, III, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Col- eman, Miss Elizabeth Hern- don, Miss Charlotte Herndon, Miss Bonnie Hinnant, and Rickert Hinnant. The 60 guests included the parents of the engaged pair, and Mr. and Mrs. John Oates Plonk. Program Set For Elderly A representative from the Charlotte Better Business Bureau will present a pro- gram on June 12th at 10:30 a.m. at the Kings Mountain Senior Center. The topic of the program will be ‘“‘Schemes Against The Elderly”. All senior adults are encouraged to attend. PEO CHAPTER PEO Chapter will meet. Monday, June 16th, for a regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Mrs. J.N. Mc- Clure on Crescent Circle. A report from the recent con- vention will feature the pro- gram. RESCUE SQUAD Members of the Board of Directors of Kings Mountain Rescue Squad will meet Mon- day night at 7 p.m. at the Squad headquarters on Parker Street. Mrs. Barrett will be install- ed as the state president of the 11,000 member American Legion Auxiliary of North Carolina in Raleigh on Satur- day during the annual con- vention. Mrs. Barrett, Mrs. Ruth Mitcham and Lib Stewart will be hostesses for Tuesday’s regular meeting at which President Ruth Gam- ble will preside. New officers include: Mrs. Ruth Gamble, re-elected president; Mrs. Myrtle Christenson and Mrs. Clara Rhea, re-elected vice presi- dents; Mrs. Margaret Dover, re-elected secretary; Mrs. Arlene Barrett, re-elected treasurer; Miss Lib Stewart, re-elected historian; Mrs. Mallie Parker and Mrs. Daisy McCurry, chaplains; and Mrs. Maybelle Jones and Mrs. Daphine Starnes, sergeant-at-arms. and Mrs. M.A. Ware, Sr. The brides-elect were presented with shoulder cor- sages and with electric crockpots from the hostesses.
