Cleveland County Hospice Holiday Festival Slated Everyone looks for one-of- a-kind Christmas presents-- something that will thrill the recipient not only for its beauty but its uniqueness. Buying such a gift will be made easier for those who at- tend the Hospice Holiday Festival party on Fri., Nov. 20 at the Hamrick Center in Shelby. Gail Marshall of Auctions by Marshall of Charlotte will be selling dozens of hand- crafted items with all pro- ceeds going to support Hospice of Cleveland County, a non-profit organization. Items include a stained glass lamp, sculptures by various artists, a hand- painted deacon’s bench, ap- pliqued sweatshirts and a piece of jewelry custon- designed just for this sale. There will be Christmas decorating items such as stockings, wreaths and crocheted angels. Hand- knitted sweaters, cross stitch, needlepoint and tole painting will be among the gifts available. For a different gift or for a personal treat, guests can bid - on a tanning booth of health for drop-in guests or get a head start on Thanksgiving dinner. Invitations for the Friday night party will go out the first week in November. The event is invitation-only. To be put o the mailing list, contact the Hospice office at 487-4677. Reservations must then be made for the 8 p.m. party. Tickets are $10 per couple and $5 for singles. Limited seating is available. Entertainment will include vocalist Janice Janiec, ac- companied by Annette Mor- ris. The scene will feature Dracula’s wife, a coffin and body, huge mummy, fortune teller, funeral parlor, a talk- ing head on a table, and a cemetery with a headless man. Coffee and cookies will be served to adults and all children will receive a Hallo- ween treat, compliments of area businesses. The public is invited to come by the house from 6-10 p.m. “We did this last year and it really caught on,” said Ms. Smith. “It’s good, clean fun for aii ages and we ap- preciate all our neighbors’ ‘and area businesses who have helped by donating can- dy and treats.” Eight adults from the neighborhood will be playing the parts of witches, devils, muminys, ete.
