Page 4B-KINGS MOUNTAIN HERALD-Wednesday, August 24, 1988 Pre-Nuptial Events Honor Reta Bennett, Jesus Ramirez Reta Bennett and Jesus Maria Ramirez were honored at several pre-nuptial events recently. A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the bride-elect’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bennett, at their home on Brookwood Drive. Guests included members of the wedding party and relatives. The out door buffet was catered by Phil and Maria Alterizio. The bride-elect took the occa- sion to give gifts to her flower girl, ringbearer and wedding directors and Mr. Ramirez took the occasion to present his gifts to men of the wedding party. Honey baked ham was served with roast beef with horseradish sauce, pasta salad, baked beans and smokies, copper pennies, corn relish, mustard, tomato, let- tucs, rye bread and rolls, punch, and cake with vanilla ice cream, cherries, almonds and macaroons. Miss Bennett honored her at- tendants at a bridesmaids lun- cheon at Holiday Inn. He is a 1974 high school graduate and received his degree in medicine from the Metropolitana University in Col- ombia. He graduated from CPCC with English as a second language and also received Associate in Applied Science degree in Respiratory Therapy. He is also employed by Charlotte Memorial Hospital and Medical Center as a Respiratory Therapist. Mrs. Jack Bennett, aunt of the bride, served the three-tiered royal blue and white wedding cake which was topped with satin bells and enhanced by a royal blue fountain blanked by four small cakes. Mrs. Dean Smith, aunt of the bride, served the punch. Refreshment tables were overlaid with blue over lace cloths and caught up with blue bows. The refreshment table held a tall fruit arrangement flanked by candalabras. Cindy Barber distributed wedding scrolls and Barbara Bennett distributed birdseed roses. Wright-Cash Couple Speak Wedding Vows From Page 2-B the bride, both of Kings Moun- tain, Miss Kim Hawkins of Myr- tle Beach, S.C. and Miss Anita Ware of Kings Mountain, cousin of the bride. All the attendants wore pink satin tea length formals designed with fitted bodices with sweetheart necklines, full skirts and elasticized sleeves worn on the shoulders. The gowns were made by aunts of the bride, Mrs. Louise McSwain and Mrs. Lillie Mae Jones, both of Kings Moun- tain. They carried nosegays of pink mini carnations and gyp- sophilia. Best man for the bridegroom was his father. Ushers were Dennis Goforth, Jr., Gordon Wright, brother of the bride, Jimmy Barrett and Billy Wease, all of Kings Moun- tain, and Sammy Stinnett of ~ Bessemer City. The bride’s mother chose a tea length mint green crepe dress designed with V-neck, long sleeves and lace collar with mat- ching shoes. She wore a pink sweetheart rose corsage. The bridegroom’s mother chose a pleated tea length dress . with lace collar, matching slip- pers and a corsage of pink sweetheart roses. Mrs. Libby Herndon directed the wedding. The reception, which carried out the wedding colors in decorative details, was held after the ceremony in the church fellowship hall and hosted by the bride’s parents. Entertaining, all aunts of the bride, were Mrs. Connie Winslow, Mrs. Helen Greene, Mrs. Mary Greene, Mrs. Myrtha Philbeck, Mrs. Sarah Queen, Mrs. Louise McSwain, Mrs. Jane Summitt and Mrs, Lillie Mae Jones. The wedding cake, highlight of the bride’s table, was topped with a Precious Moments music box and was served with punch, Silver 29ys held an assortment of vegetables sandwiches, nuts, mints, vegetable tray, ham and cheese rolls, chesse wafers and fruits. White snapdragons, glads, car- nations and pink mini carnations decorated the refreshment tables. Mr. and Mrs. Herman D. Wright of Route 6 are parents of the bride who is a 1984 graduate of Kings Mountain Senior High School and a 1986 graduate of Gaston College where she receiv- ed her AAS degree in Criminal Justice and was a member of Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society and Most Outstanding Criminal Justice Student in 1986. She at- tended Sacred Heart College and is a 1988 graduate of Gardner Webb College with B.S. in Social Studies, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She is employed by Shelby Police Department. The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Sara G. Cash of Route 2, Bessemer City, and Kenneth E. Cash of Shelby. He is a 1985 graduate of Kings Mountain Senior High School and manager of Dennis Pack ’'N Go in Bessemer City. Entertaining together were Elsie Dixon, Norma Guyhton, Ethel Peterson, Lois Rikard, Nancy Rikard, Harriet Hagan, Ethel Tignor and Carrie Martin. The bride-elect was honored at a lingerie shower at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Belk. Their daughter, Kathy Belk, maid of honor in the wedding, was hostess, with her mother, Glenda Belk. Eleven guests showered Miss Bennett with trousseau gifts. The home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed- die Schronce was setting for a miscellaneous shower hosted by Pat Schronce. Party refreshments were served. Miss Bennett and Mr. Ramirez were married Aug. 13 in Grace United Methodist Church.
