MR. AND MRS. SCOTTY DEE WOODS
Miller-Woods
~The home of the bridegroom's parents was setting for the July 2 wed-
ding uniting Crystal Ann Miller and Scotty Dee Woods in marriage.
Rev. George Willis officiated at the double-ring ceremony which was
followed by a reception hosted by the bridegroom's family.
Jackie Porter was pianist for the program of nuptial music.
The bride was given in marriage by the bridegroom's father.
Mrs. Woods is the daughter of Mrs. Shirley Miller and the late Daniel
M. Miller of Shawnee, Ohio.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bynum L. Woods of Kings
Mountain. A graduate of Kings Mountain Senior High School, he is at-
tending college in Belmont and is employed by Esther Mills of Shelby.
Grover will be home for the newlyweds after their return from a wed-
ding trip to Ohio.

JEFFREY LEWIS CHAPMAN
ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCED-Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Rector of
Ramseur announce the engagement of their daughter, Yvonne Renee, to
Jeffrey Lewis Chapman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Chapman of Kings
Mountain. The bride-elect is a 1983 graduate of Eastern Randolph High
School in Ramseur and a 1988 graduate of Appalachian State University
with a B. S. degree in Speech Pathology. She is working toward her
master's degree at Appalachian State University. The bridegroom-elect,
a 1984 graduate of Kings Mountain Senior High School, received his B.
S. degree in Economic Finance and Banking in 1988 from Appalachian
State University and is employed as a bond underwriter for Aetna Life
and Casualty Co. in Charlotte. The wedding will be an event of August
12.
JACQUELINE CURRENCE
ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCED-Ms. Alberta Currence announces
the engagement of her daughter, Jacqueline, to Maurice E. Jamerson,
son of Mrs. Darnelle Williams and A.J. Jamerson. Both families are of
Kings Mountain. The bride-elect is a 1982 graduate of Kings Mountain
Senior High School and attended Central Piedmont Community College
in Charlotte. She is employed at AMP Inc. of Gastonia. The bride-
groom-to-be is a 1980 graduate of Kings Mountain Senior High School
and attended Winston Salem State University in Winston Salem. He
taught and coached football and wrestling for Kings Mountain District
Schools. He is employed at Dawson International in Kings Mountain.
The wedding will take place Aug. 19 at Mount Zion Baptist Church.
MR. AND MRS. TOMMY MULLINAX
MARRIAGE ANNOUNCED-Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. Bridges of
Kings Mountain announce the marriage of their daughter, Carla Jeanne,
to Tommy Gene Johnson, son of Ronnie G. Johnson of Mount Holly and
Diane Cowart Mullinax of Belmont.The wedding took place July 1. The
bride is granddaughter of Mrs. Florence F. Bridges of Kings Mountain
and Mrs. Martha Hastings of Forest City. Both the bride and bridegroom
are employed by R. L. Stowe Mills in Belmont.

HUGGY AND FRIEND-Pat St. Charles, right, introduces
"Huggy" to Kings Mountain parents who may want to take their
children to CAPS Cartoon Corner at Cleveland Mall on Saturdays
from 1 until 5 p.m. to visit with Huggy for cartoons and games. St.
Charles said the service is donated by volunteers of Child Abuse
Prevention Service to parents up to two hours while they attend to
shopping duties. Parents are expected to make a donation of $1 per
hour to defray costs of materials. St. Charles said the service is for
ages 4-11. Kids adore Huggy, says St. Charles. "Huggy" is CAPS
worker Carole Allen.
