Bill Miller, interment follow- ing in Goshen Cemetery. A Pharr Yarns employee, he was a native of Gaston County, son of the late Jacqueline Ray. SAVANNAH HARRIS Graveside services for Savannah (Buck) Harris, 66, of 23 Walker Street, who died July 4, 1990, were conducted Friday at 11 a.m. at Mountain Rest Cemetery by Rev. Don Cable. A native of Gaston County, he was the son of the late Claude A. C. and Carrie Fowler Harris and was a former employee of the City of Kings Mountain. He was a + member of Bessemer City Church "of God. Jesse Boyd Nicholson, Jt., 32, of 915 Grover Road, who had been © waiting for a héart transplant for © ‘two ‘years, died July 6, 1990 at i Carolina Medical Center. Death came a day before a ben- efit concert planned by Nicholson's friends in nine area rock bands at Twilight Club in Gastonia. Instead, the 14-hour concert Saturday was : in memory of Nicholson, a musi- : cian and Kings Mountain carpen- ter. The funds will be used to help : his family pay medical bills. The winner will be crowned Saturday night in the ninth annual pageant at Brown School-Civic Center at Shelby High School from among 13 contestants from various senior citizen programs in Cleveland County. Tickets are $2 at the door and $1.50 for senior citizens 60 and older. The contestants include three women representing the Kings Mountain Senior Center. They are Ruth Gamble Mayhew, Frances Stewart Johnson and Pauline Hope' Kimbrell. The contestants will compete in talent competition beginning at 7:30 p.m, Saturday. Tuesday after- noon they were interviewed by the judges during a reception at Shelby Senior Center. For the first time, the pageant contestants are sponsored by Cleveland County industry.
