The green on white shirts go to all Kindergarten students in the five elementary schools and have the S&L logo and are imprinted with "Class of 2003." Students, pictured with Whitaker, kneeling, are Sara Lynn, Amy Robinson, Jonathan Wheeler, Brandon Bridges and Van Keith Jones, right. Standing, from left, Katie Lemmons, Cassie Bell, Shaunca Starkes, Holly Evans and Ashley Fowler. Gas Still Going Up Gas prices continued spiraling upward in the Kings Mountain area this week. The price of unleaded regular self-service gas at most stations went from $1.19 to $1.25 per gal- lon. Parker's Amoco on King Street had not raised the price at the pumps on Wednesday and was pumping gas at $1.19 per gallon. Stations outside the city limits were advertising gas at $1.29 for a gallon of unleaded gasoline. The AAA Carolina Motor Club said the increases brought the aver- age cost for a gallon of self-serve regular unleaded to $.203 in the North Carolina and $1.159 per gal- lon in South Carolina. Across the nation, prices increased by 2.1 cents per gallon to average $1.237 per gallon. Since the Kuwait invasion, the price run-up has amounted to 11.9 cents per gallon in North Carolina and 13.7 cents per gallon in South Carolina. The average U.S. price increase since the invasion has been 16.2 cents per gallon. rices STARinT) CARY AY Christmas Emporium 314 E.
