WILSONS Marcy, Dancey, Kendra, Bart, Michele, Lewis, Summer, Jimmye, Cuda, and Janis recounted their ex- periences of drugs and alcohol and the deadly combination in skits de- picted how easy it is to obtain hard drugs but how difficult it is to rid yourself of the habit. Scene after scene showed kids using drugs to deal with various home and school- From Page 1-B Mrs. Wilson wore a white dress with gold brocade bodice and a cor- sage decorated with gold ribbon. Guests were presented a wedding scroll as a memento of the occasion and were invited to a memorabilia table with family pictures dating more than 50 years and including pictures of the couple before and since their wedding day. The family pictures also included photographs of the couple's only son, Rick Wilson, who died in an automobile accident in 1965 at the age of 15. Dutch, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Wilson, and Reba King, daughter of the late Claude and Sallie King, met at a preaching service at Second Baptist Church before World War II. Soon after their marriage in Gaffney, S.C. January 17, 1942 Dutch left for the Army. After his ser- vice hitch, he worked at Burlington Mill before the late Hunter Allen hired him in the electrical department at the City of Kings Mountain in 1947. Dutch is the only surviving member of that electric department team which had included Floyd Thornburg, Jack Stone, Frank Blanton and superintendent Allen. Wilson retired from the city in 1979 after 35 years employment and worked at Minette Mills in Grover and McBest in Bessemer City but retired again to stay close to home with his wife, who has back problems. A graduate of Kings Mountain High School and Gaston College, she was formerly employed by Kings Mountain Assembly of God. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Hamilton of Gastonia, A graduate of Ashbrook High School, he is currently serving in the United States Air Force stationed at Pope AFB in Fayetteville. Putnam, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Putnam of Scism Rd., has been named to the Dean's List for the fall semester at Belmont Abbey College. She is a 1990 graduate of KMHS. Students must have a minimum grade point average for the semester of 3.40 and complete a minimum of 12 semester credits. HM Juliet McRae, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Bob McRae, and Angela Charlene Redmond, daughter of Elizabeth Redmond, were listed on the honors list at East Carolina University for the fall semester carning a B plus average with no grade below C. HM Linda R. Marlow of Kings Mountain was inducted into Gamma Beta Phi Society at a re- cent ceremony at Gaston College. Inductees into the honor society are in the top 20 percent of their class while taking at least 12 credit hours. : Nu Emergency Medical Technician training begins February 10 at Cleveland Technical College in a course taught by Louis Jenkins each Monday and Wednesday from 7-10'p.m. through July 1 in Campus Room 2001. Registration fee for the 126 hour class is $30 plus books and insur- ance. : BM Cleveland Community College will offer two classes in "Electrical Contractor License Renewal Preparation” February 5 and 6 for three hours each day in room 2020 on campus.
