i Page 8A-THE KINGS MOUNTAIN HERALD-Thursday, April 23, 1992 Sports Briefs Association will Kings Mountain Country Club will host the first annual Dickic Hoyle Memorial 2-Man Best Ball Golf Tournament May 23-24. The event will be sponsored by the KMCC Men's and Women's Golf Associaticns. All proceeds will benefit the Dickie Hoyle Memorial Golf Scholarship fund. The 36-hole tournament will be flighted after Saturday's round. It is open to both men and women. Entry fee is $120 per team ($60 per person) and includes cart and green fee for Saturday and Sunday, a free practice round during the week (must pay for cart), long drive and closest to the pin contests, lunch both days, and prizes and a social hour. All entries must be received no Jater than Wednesday, May 20. The field will be limited to the first 100 cams. : Entry forms are available at the KMCC pro shop. @ Steve Gordon caught 15 pounds and three ounces of fish to win the Cleveland County Bass Club Tournament Saturday at Wateree, SC. Tom Mayhew was second with 10 pounds, two ounces and Larry Emory was third with nine pounds, one ounce. Wayne Webb caught the biggest bass, six pounds and two ounces. B® The Kings Mountain Tennis begin play Monday night at the Kings Mountain High School courts. A meeting of all members is scheduled at 6 p.m., and play will begin afterward. Members who have already paid their dues will receive KMTA t- shirts, and new members are also invited. A $20 fee entitles the new members to full membership bene- fits and a KMTA t-shirt. HM Oil painting class - A Bob Ross painting class will begin May 2. The classes will be held the sec- ond Saturday of cach month. The fee for each Saturday class is S30.
