Their new di- visional territory will cover most of Western N.C. Rev. and Mrs. Stalcup have been at the Kings Mountain church since March of 1981. Their current church project will include a large picnic shelter which will accom- modate over a hundred. Along with the physical im- provements, a worldwide missions ministry has been established. The ministry has taken Stalcup, and others, from his church to Africa on 4 occasions. Currently, trips to Kenya and Tanzania are being for- mulated for later this year and/or 1994. Church members Harry and Wanda Kyle traveled to Kenya to serve as short term medical mis- sionaries in 1991. The Stalcups, in 1985, were ap- pointed as Foursquare Divisional Overseers of the mountain territory of North Carolina. During that REV. AND MRS. OSCAR STALCUP - time, new churches were estab- lished in Bessemer City, Shelby, Forest City, Hendersonville, Asheville and Boone. Most of those have grown to full-size self- sustaining churches. Several fami- lies have been trained and now serve as full-time pastors or evan- gelists in other areas, including Mooresville, Belmont, Iowa and Macon, Ga. Privette to speak to Coy C. Privette, Executive Director of the Christian Action League of North Carolina, Inc. and Fall revival set at Grace Church Fall revival services will be held three Sunday nights in September at Grace United Methodist Church. Rey. Patricia Stone, pastor, said the public is invited. Rev. Hal Schwartes, pastor of Central United Methodist Church, will preach Sunday at 7 p.m. Rev. Charles Gibbons, pastor of Sharon-Boiling Springs United Methodist Churches, will preach on September 12 at 7 p.m. An anointing of oil service will follow the sermon. Rev. Habakkuk Taylor, pastor of Hinton Memorial United Methodist Church in Polkville, will preach at 7 p.m. September 19. Hot dog sale Friday at Macedonia Church The Senior Adults will sponsor a” = p= hot dog sale Friday from 11 am.-7 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church, 1101 S. Battleground Avenue, Kings Mountain. The cost is $3 per plate. Carry- out orders are available and the church will deliver orders of five plates or more. Tutoring program at Good Hope Church Good Hope Presbyterian Church will begin its annual tutoring pro- gram for the 1993-94 school year September 8. The program is open to students in kindergarten through eighth grade. The time is 3:30-5 p.m. Monday and Wednesday. Seminar for women set at Central UMC Circle 8 of Central United Methodist Church will host a per- sonal safety seminar for women Thursday, September 2, at 7:30 p.m. in the church fellowship hall. Ex-police officer Rick Gilbert, founder of the Crime Prevention Resource Center at Isothermal Community College, will lead the course, open to the public. BW Gaston Memorial Hospital is offering a new program that teach- ‘es the basics of care giving. "We have many fine Foursquare churches which are pastored by outstanding ministers in Western North Carolina, therefore, I gave myself to much prayer before I ac- cepted this new appointment,” said Rev. Stalcup. The Stalcups' new responsibility will be additional to their current pastorate. Among their many du- ties will be the shepherding of all pastors and ministerial staff, coor- dinating the L.E.A.D., Leadership Enrichment and Development training program and working to establish new churches. Other du- ties will be coordinating the ladies ministries, youth rallies, men's ministries and the pooling of church resources for worldwide outreach.
