Page-10B-THE KINGS MOUNTAIN HERALD-Thursday, October 27, 1994 News Briefs Health Council to hold work session Tuesday Kings Mountain District Schools Health Council will hold a special work session Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Kings Mountain District School's Office. 105 E. Ridge St. Chairman Wanda Amay said the workshop will be a continu- ation of a discussion of the sex education curriculum. Amay said the 18-member board would present recommen- dations on the curriculum to the Kings Mountain Board of Education. She said it's possible that another workshop will be held in which local citizens can give input before the recom- mendations are presented to the school board. Amay said that the workshop is open to the he public. Western line dance classes set at KMCC Western line dance classes will begin Thursday, Nov. 3 at the Kings Mountain Community Center. Classes will be held from 7- 8:45 p.m. for six weeks. The first lesson is free. The remain- ing lessons are $25 per person. Registration will be in room 103 at the Community Center from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday- Friday, or by calling 739-9631. Register by November 1. Grover PTO plans Fall Festival Grover School PTO will sponsor a fall festival Friday, October 28, from 5-8 p.m. Children and adults can enjoy a variety of games, bingo, jumping house, a country store and bakery and grilled hamburgers and hot dogs with all the trimmings. East School festival slated on October 27 East Elementary School will hold its annual fall festival and hot dog supper Thursday, Oct. 27 Games, prizes and a Haunted House will be featured. Mildred Webber, Chris Holmes Set December 17 wedding date The engagement of Mildred Jordan Webber of Alexandria, Va. and Christopher Michael Holmes of Bethesda, Md. is an- nounced by the bride-elect's mother, Mrs. Milton C. Webber of Abington, Va. Miss Webber is also the daughter of the late Milton C. Webber. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is employed as a lobbyist and political consul- tant. The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Holmes of Denver, formerly of Kings Mountain. He is a 1977 graduate of Kings Mountain High School and a 1981 gradu- ate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is currently a partner with Ernst & Young in Washington, DC. The wedding will take place December 17. Dyes announce their daughter's engagement Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Dye of Dallas announce the engage- ment of their daughter, Lorri Ann Dye, to Robert Steven Hartley of Kings Mountain. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Hartley of Hudson. Lorri is a graduate of Bessemer City High School and is employed by Wix of Gastonia. Robert is a graduate of Kings Mountain High School and is employed by Wix of Gastonia. The wedding will take place October 29. Turkey shoot, swaps set at Bar H Arena The first annual Bar H Turkey Shoot/Gun and Knife Swap will be held at the Bar H Arena in Boiling Springs Saturday, Nov. 12.
