"We welcome Bud to Kings Mountain," said City Manager Gary Hicks, who said Rhea's var- ied experience in industry qualifies him for all phases of his new per- sonnel job which will include the city's pay plan, insurance and bene- fits and the city's safety program. "Bud was the most qualified among those applying for the posi- tion," Hicks said. A native of Kings Mountain, Rhea is the son of Mrs. Madge Rhea and the late City Commissioner Zip Rhea. A gradu- ate of Kings Mountain High School, he attended Western Carolina University and worked for six years at Craftspun Yarns af- ter he came out of service with the "I am all for Habitat for Humanity but I am concerned that property values will decrease on Cooke Circle unless new homes are built up to the same standards of the present property," said Councilman Phil Hager. Other Council members agreed with the stipulation and Milfred Smith, Habitat representative, said there would be no problem with the stipulation. They have four children, Scott Rhea of Oxford, Monte Rhea and Stacey Rhea, both of Kings Mountain, and Julie Turner of Fayetteville; and one grandson, Dane Rhea.
