RONNIE SCOTT WHEELER (Selina Mullinax Wilkerson) Wilkerson-Wheeler East Gold Street Wesleyan Church was the set- ting Saturday for the wedding of Selina Mullinax Wilkerson and Ronnie Scott Wheeler. The Rev. Harold Bumby, pastor of East Gold Street Wesleyan Church, and Rev. Dr. Forbis Kivett, pastor of First Wesleyan Church of Kannapolis, officiated the ceremony. Mrs. Barbara Mullinax was pianist, Mrs. Esther Mullinax was organist, Kent Mullinax was soloist and Cindy Houston was trumpeter for the pro- gram of nuptial music. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a ivory gown designed by Demetrius. Pearls and lace enhanced the bodice which was styled with a V-neckline and Basque waist. The Cathedral-length train spread from the floor length skirt. She carried a bouquet of pink and white roses, ivory and pink lilies, stephanotis and ivy. Joyce P. Allison of Gastonia was matron of honor and bridesmaids were Mrs. Amy G. Chapman of Central, SC, Mrs. Rebecca R. Garmon of Elkin and Ronda Wheeler of Kings Mountain. All the attendants wore royal blue satin gowns designed by Alfred Angelo. The floor-length dresses had V-necklines and fitted bodices. They carried arm bouquets of pink roses and stephan- otis. Jonathan Wilkerson of Kannapolis was ring- bearer. The bridegroom's father was best man. Groomsmen were Keith R. Allison of Gastonia, Christian Chapman of Central, SC, Tommy N. Henson of Kings Mountain and Chuck J. Wheeler of Shelby. The bride's parents entertained after the cere- mony at a reception in the church fellowship hall. The bridegroom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Friday night in the church fellowship hall. Mr. and Mrs. John R. Mullinax of Kannapolis are parents of the bride. A 1986 graduate of A.L. Brown High School, she is a 1994 graduate of Southern Wesleyan University in Central, SC. She is employed by the Kannapolis City Schools. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Wheeler of Kings Mountain. A 1989 grad- uate of Kings Mountain High School, he is a 1995 graduate of Southern Wesleyan University in Central, SC. MARSHA MARIE MARTIN Martin-Shields Carolyn Bell Martin of Scism Road, Kings Mountain, announces the engagement of her daughter, Marsha Marie, to Michael Dean Shields of Mount Holly. The bride-elect is a graduate of the Class of 1995 of Kings Mountain High School and re- ceived a North Carolina Scholars diploma. She is employed by the Department of Motor Vehicles in Shelby. The bridegroom-to-be, son of Jimmy Dean Shields of Mount Holly and Tammy Overcash Shields of Stanley, is employed by Cramerton Automotive. ; The couple plans an August 31 wedding. MRS. ROBERT J. SIMES (Caroline Crosland Sinal) Sinal-Simes Caroline Crosland Sinal of Winston-Salem and Robert J. Simes of Shelter Island, New York, were married at 4:30 p.m. July 6 in Wake Forest Baptist Church. The Rev. Lynn Rhoades and Rev. William Grimbol officiated the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Allen Sinal of Winston-Salem and the grand- daughter of Mrs. Paul E. Hendricks Sr. of Kings Mountain and the late Dr. Hendricks and Mr. and Mrs. William C. Lowder of Jacksonville, Fla. and Mr. and Mrs. Paul E. Sinal of Whiting, Indiana. She is the great-granddaughter of Mrs. Mary Sinal of Whiting, Indiana. The bride attends the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Reginald Simes of Shelter Island, New York, the bridegroom is the grandson of Mrs. Barbara Hansen of Shelter Island, New York. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is employed by GIGNA Healthcare in Charlotte. The bride was escorted by her father. The maid of honor was Katie Sinal, of Winston-Salem, sis- ter of the bride. The bridesmaids were Kelly Poisson of Wilmington, cousin of the bridegroom, and Laura Wells and Becky Wishen, both of Winston-Salem. Best man was Greg Folta of Poughkeepsie, New York. Groomsmen were Will Hendricks of Kings Mountain, cousin of the bride, DeWayne Lucas of Rocky Mount and Craig Simes and David Simes of Shelter Island, NY, brothers of the bridegroom. Junior groomsman was Robert Virgil Ford III of Winston-Salem. Following a honeymoon in Pawleys Island, SC, the newlyweds live in Charlotte. TAMMY L. MOSS STEPHEN D. McLEYMORE Moss-McLeymore John and Nancy Moss of Kings Mountain an- nounce the engagement of their daughter, Tammy, to Stephen D. McLeymore, son of William McLeymore of Kings Mountain and Julia Mintz of Gastonia. Miss Moss is a 1991 graduate of Kings Mountain High School and is employed by Anvil Knitwear Inc. The bridegroom-to-be is a 1985 graduate of Bessemer City High School, a 1988 graduate of Gaston College with an Associate of Arts degree and a 1991 graduate of Central Wesleyan College in South Carolina with a Business Management degree. Morgan-White Mr. and Mrs. Terry Mitchell Morgan of Charlotte announce the engagement of their daughter, Teri Andera Morgan, to William David White Jr. of Graham. Miss Morgan graduated from Independence High School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she received her B. A. degree in English and Broadcast Journalism. She is employed with The Charlotte Observer and will be a first year law student at the Howard University School of Law in Washington, DC in the fall. The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William David White of Graham. He is a graduate of Southern Alamance High School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he received a B. S. degree in Biology. He is currently a candidate for a Doctoral of Dental Surgery at the Howard University School of Dentistry in Washington, DC . An August 3 wedding at University Chapel on the campus of Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte is planned. CHUCK AND JUDY HALMESS ..on 25th wedding anniversary July 10, 1996 TONYA KAY HAWKINS Hawkins-Carroll Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Hawkins of Kings Mountain announce the engagement of their daughter, Tonya Kay, to John Riley Carroll, son of Riley Carroll of Pawleys Island, SC and Joel Fouts of Cary. Miss Hawkins is a graduate of Western Carolina University with a degree in Child Development and Family Relations. She is a member of Delta Zeta Sorority.
