North Elementary sets open school August 8 North Elementary School will have an "Open School" on Friday, August 8. Parents and children are in- vited to attend and meet the children's teachers. The hours are 10-11 a.m. for kindergarten through grade 2, and 1-2 p.m. for grades 3-5. East School plans August 8 open house East Elementary School will have open house Friday, August 8 from 1-3 p.m. Students can go by and meet their teacher. Orientation Friday at KM Middle School Friday, August 8 has bee¢in scheduled for all sixth gracile students and parents to visit Kings Mountain Middle Scho ()l for an orientation. . A group meeting will begiin at 6:30 p.m. in the gym. Following this sessions, stu|- dents will visit classrooms and meet their teachers. Families are encouraged to arrive before 6:15 p.m. in order to park and be seated at what is expected to be a full house. New traffic pattern at KM Middle School The Department of Transportation is completing construction work on the new entrance at Kings Mountain Middle School. The new entrance will be lo- cated at the site of the old exit. Cars will move around the top _ of the circle and proceed to the front of the building with the building on the driver's right side. Drivers will then proceed down a new exit road which passes in front of the main classroom building, exiting on the road on the lower side of the campus. D.O.T. predicts that the new holding capacity will reduce the traffic stoppage on Phifer Road. No students should be dropped off or picked up on Phifer Road. Masters attends nurses conference Betty P. Masters, a Nurse at Page 7B Kings Mountain District Schools, recently attended the 29th annual National Association of School Nurses Conference in Dallas, TX. At the conference, Masters met with nearly a thousand oth- er school nurses from through- out the country and other ex- perts who deal with school health issues on a daily basis. The National Association of School Nurses has more than 10,000 members, all of whom are professional nurses, in all 50 states and several foreign countries. MasterCard.
