McLaurin Lennon, 86, 401
Neisler Drive, died August 27,
1997 at her home.
A native of Statesboro, Ga.,
she was the daughter of the late
L.A. and Lillian Hunter
McLaurin. She was preceded in
death by her husband, Richard
S. Lennon Sr.
She was a member of First
J Presbyterian Church. She was a
graduate of Queens College,
Charlotte, and received her
Masters Degree from Winthrop
College in Rock Hill, SC. She
taught at Kings
Mountain,Gastonia, Red
Springs, and South Carolina
schools. She was an environ-
mentalist and a long-time bird
watcher with the Audubon
Society.
She is survived by her son,
Richard S. Lennon Jr. of LaPlata,
Md.; daughter, Sara Rose
Lennon of Dallas, Texas; and a
sister, Jean. McCoy of
Greensboro. Wa
The funeral was conducted
by Dr. Richard Newsome at 10
a.m.
Monday at
Presbyterian Church. A grave-
side service was conducted by
the Rev. William Link at 2:30
p.m. at Rowland Cemetery in
Rowland.

Tate, 85, of the Wesleyan Arms
Nursing Center, died
September 1, 1997 at her resi-
dence.
A native of Rutherford
County, she was the daughter
of the late Zeno Deaver and
Georgia Turner Barnett, and
wife of the late Hoyt Ray Tate.
She was the mother of the late
First
Cumi Samantha Phizacklia and
William Dean Tate.
She is survived by her daugh-
ters, Frances Farrington of High
Point and Barbara Beasley of
Richmond, VA; son, Eugene
Ray Tate of Herndon, Va; broth-
er, William Henry Barnett of
Myrtle Beach, SC; 14 grandchil-
dren and six great-grandchil-
dren.
A graveside service was con-
ducted by the Rev. Harold
Schwantes at 2 p.m. Wednesday
at Mountain Rest Cemetery in
Kings Mountain.

She is survived by her daugh-

Mountain; Elizabeth Jane
Grigar and husband Jerry of
Ithaca, Michigan; Mary Ann
Grant of Kings Mountain; and

Mrs. Lincoln was an organ

TN; son, Jimmy and wife
Debbie Medlin of Ellenboro;
brothers, Bill and Julia Huss of
Spartanburg, SC; Jack and Judy

She was a member of Central
United Methodist Church and’
was retried from Lambeth Rope
Company of Kings Mountain.
She is survived by her sister, -
