Page 2A 3 MELVIN FAUCETTE KINGS MOUNTAIN - Melvin Clark Faucette, 73, 704 Marion Street, died Monday, June 14, 1999 at his home. A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late L.W. and Rosa Lee Hailey Faucette. He was also preceded in death by a son. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and : was a retired reserve officer for the Kings Mountain Police Department after five years of service. He served as Safety and Security Officer for Gaston Memorial Hospital for 10 years and he was a retired manager of the Kentucky Fried Chicken in Kings Mountain after 20 years. He also served in the United States Navy during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Barnhardt Faucette of Kings Mountain; sons, Wesley Wade Faucette of Austin, TX, John David Faucette of Kings . Mountain, and Lee Welsh Faucette of Lenoir; daughter, Pamela Faucette Setzer of Kannapolis; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted by the Rev. Mike Murray at 11 * a.m. Thursday at Grace United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Mountain Rest Cemetery. NANCY WILSON KINGS MOUNTAIN- Nancy Johnson Wilson, 75, died June 8, 1999 in Marietta, Georgia. She was a native of Glasgow, Scotland. She is survived by her son Steve Wilson of Kings Mountain; daughters Vivien Cissell of Marietta, Georgia, and Kelli Ferment of Charlotte; sis- ters Jean Green of Victoria, British Columbia, Margaret Lamohd of Fort William, Scotland, and Cathie Lindsay of Bumfries, Scotland; also four OBITUARIES grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A memorial service was held Tuesday at Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel at 3 pm. Memorials may be made to Wellstar Community Hospice, 4040 Hospital West Road, Austell, Georgia 30106. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late James Monroe Hubbard and Mary Jane Haynes Hubbard. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and a retired Supply Clerk with Cleveland Cloth Mill, J.P. Stevens. He was also a member of Polkville Baptist Church and a Mason of Camp Call Lodge. He is survived by his wife Ailene Morrow Hubbard of the home; son Bobby Hubbard of Kings Mountain; son and his wife Stanley and Anne Hubbard of Lawndale; daugh- ter and her husband Marian and Jeff Aderholt of Shelby; granddaughters Teresa Lynn Brady of Crouse, Lisa Ann Hensley of Cherryville, and Kaitlyn Anastasia Aderholt of Shelby; grandson Landon Hubbard of Boiling Springs; brother J.M. Jake Hubbard, Jr. of Ellenboro. A graveside service was held at Cleveland Memorial Park at 11 am Monday. The Revs. Alton Martin and Everette Priddy offi- ciated. SUSAN JOHNSON- BESSEMER CITY- Susan Newman Johnson, 96, 508 S. 7th St., died June 13, 1999 at home. She was the daughter of the late Eddie P. and Susan Newman and the wife of the late Glenn Dale Johnson. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her son Glenn Johnson of Bessemer City; daughters Eva Mae Bolin of Blacksburg, S.C., Retha Cash of Lincolnton, and Wilma Eaves of Bessemer City; 18 grandchil- dren, 20 great grandchildren, and 27 great great grandchil- dren; also special friend and caretaker Sandy Black of Bessemer City. SHELBY- William Preston Harmon, Sr, 74, 5047 Harmon Road, Kings Mountain, died June 11, 1999 at his residence. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Edgar DeKalb Harmon and Fannie Etters Harmon. He was also preceded in death by his wife Jean Wilkinson Harmon and five brothers and five sis- ters. He was a U.S. Army veter- an of WWII with the 3rd Army 8th Division and received the Purple Heart and Silver Star. He was a retired driver with Johnson Motor Lines in Charlotte and Kerns Trucking Company in Kings Mountain. He was also a member of El Bethel United Methodist Church and Fairview Lodge 339, both in Kings Mountain. He is survived by his son Billy Harmon of Kings Mountain; daughter Julie Harmon of Shelby; and sister Gladys H. Sherer of Erwin, Tennessee. KRISTOPHER GUNNIN BLACKSBURG, S.C.- Kristopher Todd (Butch) Gunnin, 15, 239 Sims Road, died June 12, 1999 unexpectedly at home. A native of Oconee, South “Carolina, he was the son of the late James and Belle Murphy - Hamby. He was also preceded in death by a daughter Tara Denise Hamby, brothers Grady and Clifford Hamby, and sisters Dorothy Cloninger Coggdell, - Lythe Varillas, Tina Duncan, Bessie Lyles, and Eva Freeman. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church and Moose Lodge 1303 and a retired truck driver with Joseph T. Ryerson and Sons in Charlotte. He is survived by his wife Brenda McNew Hamby of the home; son and daughter in law Ronnie J. Jr. and Toni Nicole Hamby; daughter Sonya Hamby of the home; brothers Clarence Hamby of Gastonia; Leon Hamby of Erwin, N.C; sisters Delcy Robinson and Maudie Cook of Gastonia, and Sara Grindle of Dallas, N.C; grandchild Logan Nicole Hamby.
