JEFFERY MARK TAYLOR (Susan Elizabeth Rose) Rose-Taylor Susan Elizabeth Rose of Shelby and Jeffery Mark Taylor of Kings Mountain were married Saturday, July 10 at 4 p.m. at Central United Methodist Church, Shelby. ==: Dr. Joseph M. Reeves officiated. Michael Sisk, organist, and Gina McWhirter, soloist, present- ed a program of wedding music. Susan is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rolla David Rose of Shelby. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. EM. Rose of Shelby and the late Mr. Rose, and the late Mr.-and Mrs. Joseph Rush Thompson of Shelby. She is a 1995 graduate of Shelby High School and was presented at the Junior Charity League Debutante Ball in 1995. She is a 1999 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BS in Communications and Linguistics. She is a member of Delta Zeta Sorority. She plans to attend graduate school to be a speech pathologist. Jeff is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Conley Eugene Taylor of Kings Mountain. He is the grandson of Mrs. Margaret Dellinger of Kings Mountain, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Dellinger of Clinton, SC, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Mark Taylor of Kings Mountain. He is a 1994 graduate of Kings Mountain High School, and attended Gaston College. He is employed by Averitt Express, Greensboro. The bride was given in marriage by her fa- ther, Rolla David Rose. Maid of Honor was Sarah Ann Currie of Shelby. Bridesmaids were Jennifer LeMaster Rose, sister of the bride, of Shelby; Claudia. Rebecca Rose, sister of the bride, of Columbia, SC; Charlotte Taylor Belcher and Michelle See Taylor, 4B Contestants needed for = Miss Gastonia Contestant applications are now being accepted for the Miss Gastonia 2000 pageant set, for Saturday, August 14 at * Gaston College in Dallas. Young women ages 17-24 that are residents of or full-time stu- dents at a college or university in Cleveland or Gaston County are eligible to participate. Additional eligibility require- ments apply. Witenes Contestants will participate in talent, interview, swimsuit and evening wear competition. The winner will take home a college scholarship as well as other prizes and will represent the greater Cleveland /Gaston area in the 2000 Miss North Carolina pageant. She will be crowned by the reigning Miss Gastonia, Emily McCotter of Mt. Holly. Davidson Alumni 21st anniversary set The Davidson Alumni Association will celebrate its 21st anniversary Sunday, July 18 at 3 p.m. at Mont Zion Baptist Church, 102 Watterson Street, Kings Mountain. Guest speaker will be Rev. Reginal McClean, pastor of Bynum Chapel AME Zion Church. The public is invited. SHERRI LYNN BRIDGES KEVIN WAYNE GREEN Bridges-Green Mr. and Mrs. Michael L. Bridges Sr. of Kings Mountain announce the engagement of their daughter, Sherri Lynn Bridges, to Kevin Wayne Green. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth T. Anderson and Ms. Mary Helen Bridges and the late Paul D. Bridges, all of Kings Mountain. Sherri is a 1997 graduate of Kings Mountain High School, and is currently attending Gaston College. She is employed by VOCA of America. The future bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry W. Green and Mr. and Mrs. George A. Ruppe of Kings Mountain. He is the grand- son of Ms. Bessie Green, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Gettys, and Ms. Gaynelle Ruppe, all of Kings Mountain. She cele- brated June 19 with a Winnie the Pooh party. The party was held outside and lots of friends and family attended. Auxiliary to install new officers New officers of the American Legion Auxiliary will be in- stalled Thursday at 7 p.m. at the American Legion building.
