After much thought, consideration, and investigation of the Clerk's responsibilities, I decided to ask you, the citizens of Gaston County, to give me the opportunity to serve in a capacity that I strongly feel I would be effective and could make a difference. The office of Clerk of Superior Court is one of the most important jobs in our community and can, at some point in time, touch the lives of almost every citizen. Throughout my entire career, I have worked with and for the public and enjoy serving and assisting citizens with their problems and concerns. My present job responsibilities require contact with the personnel in the Clerk's Office from time to time. I feel the management experience I have in my present job along with educational background provide me with qualifications that would be assets for serving as Gaston County Clerk of Superior Court. If elected, my top priorities will be to make the Clerk's Office citizen friendly through promoting and ensuring excellent customer service; to administer all of the duties of the Office; and, to work in a cooperative spirit with the Judges and District Attorney to assure that the court processes flow smoothly and that adequate personnel from the Clerk's Office is staffed to meet the needs of the judicial system in Gaston County. To be elected to this position would be tremendous honor and opportunity to serve you, the citizens of Gaston County. Your vote is very important. Please be sure to vote Tuesday, November 5.
