Donald Dorsett and Linda Mann had planned to pledge their vows at the annual Beach Blast at the gazebo at Patriots Park Saturday, but heavy rains forced postponement of the Beach Blast until July 26. But the wedding went on as planned - in the lobby of Kings Mountain City Hall. It is believed to be the first wedding held at City Hall. JENNIFER ELLEN MALPERT BUDDY DEAN HUCKABEE Malpert-Huckabee Jennifer Ellen Malpert and Buddy Dean Huckabee, both of Franklin, will be married July 12 at 6:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Franklin. Rev. Patt Miller will perform the service. The bride-to-be is the daughter of Kenneth Malpert of Wausau, WI and the late Jane Malpert, and Joe and Cindy Curran of Waynesville. She is a 1999 graduate of Tuscola High School and is a senior at Western Carolina University, where she is working on a Bachelor degree in Education. The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Huckabee Jr. of Kings Mountain. He is the grandson of John Huckabee of Wintergarden, FL and Beatrice Huckabee of Kings Mountain, and Mr. and Mrs. Dean Costner of Kings Mountain. He is the great-grandson of the late Etla Sellers Costner of Kings Mountain. He is the nephew of Mr. and Mrs. Jigger Robinson of Bessemer City. He is a 1995 graduate of Kings Mountain High School and graduated Western Carolina University with a BSed in Music Education. In December he will graduate with a Master of Arts in Music Education.
