But, it’s even easier to forget about your smoke alarm battery, especially since there aren’t as many people reminding you to change it,” Long says. “So this year, don’t forget to change your smoke alarm batteries because remembering can save your life.” Commissioner Long and the Department of Insurance Office of State Fire Marshal urge North Carolinians to make smoke alarm mainte- nance a part of their yearly routines. Failing to do so can give a family a false sense of security and could jeopard- ize their safety in the event of a fire. NASCAR license plates available NASCAR fans across North Carolina now have 33 new ways to express their love of racing as the N.C. Department of Transportation’s Division of Motor Vehicles (NCDMYV) has given the NASCAR license plate series the green flag. The new NASCAR- themed plates are the latest additions to NCDMYV'’s spe- cialized license plate pro- gram, which includes over 90 special license plates that allow citizens to express their common interests and civic affiliations. The NASCAR series features a general NASCAR plate in addition to plates highlight- ing 32 of the sport's most popular drivers. “This is the first time NCDMYV has issued an entire series of license plates with one common theme,” said NCDMV Commissioner George Tatum. “I am extremely pleased to add the NASCAR series to our spe- cialized plate program.” Ministry looking for musician IRC Ministries is looking for a keyboard player.
