Pop Warner teams win two Saturday Kings Mountain Pop Warner football teams won two of their four games Saturday at City Stadium. The pee wees lost to the Charlotte Cardinals 34-27. Jerick Dabbs rushed for over 200 yards and scored four touchdowns and an extra point. Alex Castellano score two extra points. Defensive leaders for the Mountaineers were Demery Moody, Douglas Edgerton, Alex Castellano and Brandon Costner. The pee wees, 7-2, travel to Raleigh Saturday to play in the second round of the Pop Warner Regionals at Garner High School. They face the Arlington, VA Hawks at 12 noon. HB The mitey mites defeated Chapel Grove 14-7 as Jair McCluney rushed for 130 yards and scored two touchdowns and an extra point off a pass from Madisyn Bolin. Christopher Burns scored the other | extra point. Defensive leaders were Matthew Absher, Dylan Simms, Bryson Bailey and Corey Tate. The junior mighty mites ended their season with a 2-6 record. HM The junior pee wees shutout the Derita Redskins 29-0. Jaylan Watkins rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns, and Da’Shon Guest rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown and two extra points. Chad Sanders scored the other touchdown with Dontarious Adams adding the extra point off a pass form Alex Reynolds. - Kings Mountain also recorded a ° safety. Outstanding on defense were AJ. Austin, Sam Baker, Elijah Whitaker, Alex Reynolds, Zack Wilson and Colby Bailey, who had an interception. The junior pee wees, 7-1, play in the McAdenville Christmas Bowl on November 18. BM The mighty mites lost to the McAdenville Dolphins 22-6. Kings Mountain’s only score - came on a 40 yard run by Chris = Montgomery, who rushed for * 101 yards.
