Page 4 SE OBITUARIES The Kings Mountain Herald September 4, 2008 BOBBY LOCKRIDGE, SR. KINGS MOUNTAIN - Bobby Gene Lockridge, Sr., 72, of 137 Ark Street, died August 27, 2008 at his home. He was born in Gaston County. He was son of the late Ernest Lockridge and Julia Martin Lockridge. He was also preced- ed in death by his wife, Julia McDaniel Lockridge; daughter, Pamela Jean Lockridge Anderson; brother, Backey Lockridge; and sisters, Vinette McKeeann, Bea Jones, Billie Lockridge and Shirley Lockridge. He was retired from Johnson Motor Lines, Charlotte. He was a loving and caring daddy and a wonderful grand- pa. He is survived by sons, Mike Lockridge of Kings Mountain and Jody Lockridge and wife Jennifer of Kings Mountain; daughters, Delores Anderson and husband Coleman of Kings Mountain and Bobbie Charlene Lockridge Taylor of Cherryville; five grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. A graveside service was con- ducted by the Rev. Roy Dean Clark at 3 p.m. Friday, August, 29, 2008 at Mountain Rest Cemetery, where interment fol- lowed. RUFUS “FRANK” WARE KINGS MOUNTAIN - Rufus “Frank” Ware, 89, of 104 Benfield Road, died August 28, 2008 at White Oak Manor. He was born in Cleveland County, the son of the late Rufus Alexander and Hattie Dellinger Ware. He was the hus- band for 53 years to the late Bessie Wood Ware. He was also preceded in death by broth- er, Fred Ware and sister, Florence White. He was a mem- ber of First Wesleyan Church. He was retired from Seth Lumber Co., Lincolnton. He is survived by son, Charles Ware and wife Emily of Kings Mountain; brother, Clyde Ware of Kings Mountain; sis- ters, Ethel Kiser of Cherryville, Mary Gibbons of Kings ‘Mountain and Sue Lewis of Fallston; two grandchildren, Marsha Campbell and husband Scott of Kings Mountain and Kelly Ware and wife Lori of Shelby; and, four great grand- children, Lauren Campbell, Summer Campbell, Emma Ware and Mary Claire Ware. KENNETH PATTERSON KINGS MOUNTAIN — Kenneth Ray Patterson, 50, of 1015 Second Street, died Thursday, August 28, 2008 at his home. He "was born in Cleveland County, son of the late Henry Boyce Patterson. He served in the N.C. National Guard with the 505th Eng. Battalion, Kings Mountain. He is survived by son, Joshua McKenzie Patterson and wife Christine of Rock Hill, SC; daughter, Candace Bonham and husband Paul of Gastonia; mother, Betty Fredell Patterson of Kings Mountain; brother, Boyce Patterson of Kings Mountain; sister, Deborah Seay of Gastonia; and four grandchil- dren. A memorial service was con- ducted by the Rev. Wayne Fredell at 7 p.m. Sunday, August 31, 2008 at Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel. Wooley, 68, of 706 Princeton Drive, died August 30, 2008 at his home. Born in Gaston County, he was the son of the late Odell and Pauline Black Wooley. He was also preceded in death by his wife Betty Smith Wooley. He was retired from Anvil Knit in Kings Mountain and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. He is survived by his son, Scottie Wooley of Asheville; daughter, Shiela Lazenby and husband Brian of Gastonia; step-sons, Bennie Smith of Cherryville and Norman Smith and wife Christy of Kings Mountain; step-daughter, Cathie Smith Goins and hus- band Bobby of Cherryville; brother-in-law, Don Blackburn of Kings Mountain; sisters-in- law, Frances McDaniel, Sue Yates, Dot Smith and husband Ken and JoAnn Morrow and husband Larry, all of Kings Mountain; 10 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The funeral was conducted by the Revs. Dennis Beam and Ken Faulkenbery at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at Anthony Grove Baptist Church, Crouse, NC. LONNIE BURGESS III KINGS MOUNTAIN - Lonnie Burgess III, 36, of Kings Mountain,.died August 29, 2008 at his home. He was born in Cleveland County. He was preceded; in death by his paternal grandfather, Lonnie Burgess, Sr; maternal grandfather, H a nek Breedlove; uncle, Steve Hicks; and aunt, Elizabeth “Lib” Green. He attended Kings Mountain Baptist Church and was the IT director for Little Gods Gifts, Charlotte. He was a 1990 graduate of Kings Mountain High School and a graduate of Cleveland Community College and Central Carolina Community College. He served United States Navy. He is survived by his father, : Lonnie “Dickie” Burgess of in the Kings Mountain; mother, Mary Breedlove Joyce and husband Jerry of Winnabow; brothers, James Mayberry and David Mayberry, both of Blacksburg, SC; sister, Deanna Wildes of Savannah, Ga.; maternal grand- mother, Elizabeth Breedlove of Gastonia; paternal grandmoth- er, Thelma Hicks of Kings Mountain; uncle, Pete Burgess and wife Teresa of Blacksburg, SC; aunts, Doris Chamblee and husband Fred of Shallette and Margie Lawrence of King; and many more aunts, uncles and cousins. A graveside service was con- ducted by Dr. Jeff Hensley at 2 p-m. Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at Mountain Rest Cemetery. Interment followed at Veterans Garden in Mountain Rest Cemetery. She was also preceded in death by 14K Solitaire 11/2 Carat total weight from $3,995 Band $749 IRNOLD’S daughters, Crystal Perez, Patricia Mellon and Ernestine Mauney; and brothers, Jerry He ms and Hubert Boyles. She was retired from Wells Manufacturing in Gastonia and was employed with - Wal-Mart, elby. She attended True Gospel Holiness Church, Kings Mountain. She is survived by her “husband, Wesley Pendleton of Kings Mountain; son, Gene Mauney and wife Pam of Blacksburg, SC; daughter, Philis Mauney Jackson of Kings Mountain; sons-in- law, Octavio Perez of Kings Mountain and Nelson “Tap” Jackson; brothers, H.D. Morrow of Shelby and Paul Morrow of Kings Mountain; sisters, Wanda West and Shirley Scruggs, both of Kings Mountain and Evelyn Champion of Shelby; 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. The funeral service was conducted by the Revs. LeAnn Chapman and Tim Whitaker at 4 p.m. Wednesday, September 3; 2008 at Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel. Interment was at Mountain Rest Cemetery.
