Some 75 classmates and guests of the Kings Mountain High School Class of 1971 gathered on Saturday, September24, 2011 to reminisce and celebrate 40' years since their last official stu- dent walk to John Gamble Stadium for the grand prize... receipt of a high school diploma. + Cleveland County Fairgrounds was the site of celebration that included a : B-B-Q dinner with all the trimmings served by classmate, Paul Goforth and his award-winning cooking team, King’s Cooking. Music of the 1970’s was provided by DJ Calvin Hast- ings. Black and gold table coverings with yellow mum center- pieces decorated each table. Picture posters, a graduation photograph, memory books, pompoms and a cheerleading uniform from 1971 were displayed throughout the facility. An “In Remembrance Picture Board” was presented to honor the class’ 30 deceased classmates. Classmate Joan Davis Crawford took photographs of class- mates and guests and provided a photo memory CD of the re- union. Teachers attending the celebration included Mr. Allen Dixon, Ms. Glenda O’Shields, and Ms. Angel Lackey Teer. Members of the reunion committee were Lynn Lovelace Brown, Arthur Carroll, Joan Davis Crawford, Debbie Wilson Crocker, Dwight Dixon, Kathy Heavner Dixon, Mary Anne Bennett Gibson, Dale Lawing, Susan Fite Lovelace, Gail Timms Smith, Connie Phifer Savell, Marlene Quinn Spencer, Gale Law- . ing Stout and Pamela Williams, celebrate 50 years Mr. and Mrs. Paul Williams celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011. The party was hosted by their daughter, Diane Williams, of Mebane, NC. Lucille Camp and Paul Williams were married on Nov.14, 1941 in Gaffney, SC. The event was held in Kings Mountain at Bethle- hem Baptist Church Senior Center from 3-5 p.m. The food was catered by Mak- ing Memories of Kings Mountain and the cake was provided by Kater Dids of Gastonia. Mr. and Mrs. Williams celebrated their 25th wed- ding anniversary by re- newing their vows. and taking a vacation to : ¥ oa. Hawaii.
