Helen Belcher Award Winner Helen Belcher of Kings Mountain recently com peted In the Carolina Beauty and Harvest Festival at the Charlotte Qvlc Center, where she wsa awarded the 1979 %>eclal Effects Medallion. Ms. Belcher, who Is employed at Scissors and Styles, won her award In the Southeastern Man’s Hairstyling Contest. The 32 contestants were Judged In the areas of cutting, styling and special work performed. Judgment was also conducted in the area of model’s attire and the ability of the styUst to coordinate the hair Into a total fashion look. Ms. Belcher also made the black oriental gla worn by her model, Frank Tessneer of Kings Mountain. Soldier Participates In Training Excercise U.S. FORCES, Germany — Pfc. Terry B. Goode, son of Mr. and Mrs. E.F. Goode, Route 4, Kings Mountain, recently par ticipated In Constant Enforcer, a major field training exercise In central Germany. Approximately 30,000 American, German, Canadian and Belgian soldiers took part In the exercise. Constant Enforcer, which Involved more than 2S00 tracked vehicles and 300 helicopters, provided units with realistic combat training In a simulated combat environment. The maneuver was conducted near the scenic and historic Marburg-Kassell area of Germany. Goode Is a com munications operator with the Third Armored Division in Frankfurt, Germany.
