The Pantry, on E. King St., reported the theft of a garden hose, valued at $25. Carl Armstrong, represen tative of Frito Lay Potato Chips, reported the theft of potato chips and assorted snack foods from a mini-storage facility on Slater St. Estimated value of the merchan dise was $118.17 Michael Kistler, of 1001 Cleveland Ave., reported the theft of a 10 speed bicycle, valued at $160. For AM Your P«t Noods • $•• Us First in her first voice recital Saturday evening at the home of her in structor, Mrs. Luther Cansler, at “Greenway” on Canterbury Rd. Miss Bradshaw delighted the group present, including three generations of the Bradshaw family and four generations of the Ramsey family, in a program of readings. Co-hostesses for the recital program were Mrs. Cansler and Mrs. Don W. Blanton, assisted by Miss Penelope Cansler of Greenville, S.C., Mrs. Charles Ramsey 11 and Mrs. James Sellars of Charlotte. After the program, Mrs. Cansler took the occasion to pre sent Miss Bradshaw with a book of poetry and Miss Bradshaw presented gifts to the hostesses. A benedictory prayer was prayed by Robert Bradshaw, 11, Matthew Bradshaw and Heather Bradshaw. Carla Ramsey also assisted in serving refreshments. The tea table in the dining room was decorated in pink and white. Miss Penelope Cansler presided at the punch bowl and guests en joyed pink fruit punch and pink and white party cakes and pickups. Mrs. Cansler gave the welcome and introduced the various selections of poetry by Heather Bradshaw. She com mended Heather, who has studied voice since age five, for her outstanding work during the past year. The talented young lady wore a long white dress and a corsage of pink sweetheart roses. The hostesses were also gowned in long formals and wore shoulder corsages. Heather’s program included: “Friendship”: From Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, “Hiawatha’s Childhood” and “The Village Blacksmith’’; Eugene Field’s “Grandma’s Prayer”; “Lettla Georgio Washington” by John Augustine Daly; “Someone” by Walter e la Mare: “A Trilogy” by Nancy Byrd Turner of ‘The First Thanksgiving Of All”, “Washington” and “Lincoln”; ‘Trees” by Joyce Kilmer: A Selection of Favorites by Eugene Field, including “The Sugar Plum Tree”, “Wynken, Blynken and Nod”, “The Duel” and “See ing Things”; “A Song of Little People” by Bliss Carman; Henry Van Dyke’s “America for Me”; and A Trilogy of Favorites in cluding “Spring Song” by Elizabeth Goudge, “King David’s Psima 100” and Christina Rossetti’s “My Gift.” ECKEiyrs ...anameyoucantruBt WE WILL BE OPEN JULY 4TH Lauralee Haigler and Cliff Cunningham were united in marriage Sat., June 21, at Cen tral United Methodist Church.
